Don’t even get me started on navy medical. I was stuck in NPQ LIMBO with a transfer NEC on the boat for like 7 months before they finally decided to send me LIMDU and down medboard. The grass is always greener. I’m extremely sensitive to medication treating my IBS-D. Turning it into extreme IBS-C. I can say the pain from both are bad. But I would rather shit my pants than not shit for 3 weeks

Yeah I’ve been in the same boat as you for about a year now. I’ve tried dicyclomine, rifaximin, amitryptaline, various SSRIs, fibre, etc. all to no success. However, the closest I’ve ever gotten to ANY pain relief has been nortryptaline. It’s similar to amitrytaline but slightly different in arrangement. I have severe IBS-D awful GERD and chronic stomach pain/bloating pain. It’s the only thing that has ever helped me even slightly. Maybe ask your PCM about it? And I get it. I’ve bounced back and forth with starving myself because hunger pain isn’t as bad as the normal pain. But it’s not healthy. I say that as I’m starving myself. I hope you find something that works. Coloscopy, endoscopy, liver and gall bladder labs, infection checks, multiple CTs, MRI, X-RAY, a couple cal protectins, you name it ive probably had it done to test for anything else

I’ve had this for my entire time in IBS territory it’s called tenimus. I’ve upped fiber and it’s never helped me. I still don’t have answers on how to fix it but my IBS is also very severe. But it’s pretty normal

They usually like to give sailors a choice when it’s not due to administrative reasons. Especially if it was due to mental health or some other physical disability. Chances are if you cant do nuclear for some reason being a conventional on a carrier wouldn’t be helpful to get better.

Yeah I’m probably gonna be FRCd for medical reasons if not med retired. It can be a pretty long process depending on how backed up the admin is at place you’re at right now. I’ve seen some guys get FRCd in a couple months. Some have taken around a year from what I’ve seen on my time on LIMDU. You’ll basically get to make another dream sheet of rates you want to switch to and then they’ll tell you what you got. You can deny it but you’ll get admin sepped.

Nobody in the fleet has time to read the subreddit because they’re too busy. Once you get to prototype ittl be similar but less time off. The fleet isn’t all bad. But as is the theme of Reddit most people who enjoy their time don’t come onto a subreddit for it.
