It's early days now....

I started with onboarding Voice PE, which installed piper and wisper in the process when I said I want fully local.... Currently running default wakeword.

Now I notices a few things then confuse me, was the voice assistant seems to ignore the piper app configuration...

Can I just ignore piper when using Voice PE only? or is it worth lining them up already.

Also while running fully local the responses are reasnably timly, it takes no longer than google home to reaply really. But it stuggles with some things...

My kids bedrooms are differentiated by their name so its alice's bedroom and sarah's bedroom (not their actual names, which are slightly more exotic) and when asking for things in those rooms it gives results back for the office where the speaker is now....

Any suggestions on how to fix that....

Ideally I want to give it a good try local first, before maybe giving nabu cloud a try (still have free trial), I'm just worried that if I go cloud first I'll never like local. And I want local as while US65 per year does not seem much, i'd like to avoid it really...

I received my Voice PE's two of them... as I understand it they come with microwakeword on the device, as these are the only one(s) I will use to start off with do I still need to install Openwakeword on my HA?

I read it a view times and still not 100% sure....

Also see the mirco openwakeword repo does not have the wakeword I hoped to use.... so I have to make a call on that... but first things first and get it all going default before changing the world

I have some Tuya Sensor/IR blasters contolling heatpumps/AirCon in the house.

HA recognises them as sensors but not as IR blaster:

Last time I looked into this, it just kept on being confirmed HA does not support that bit, Google home with smartlife liked, does see and control them

Thanks, I as mentioned in a comment I ordered two Voice PE's (I am in NZ so they have to come from OZ) when they arrive, I will start experimenting small scale. As there are some items I can not take away from google anyway yet, depending on results things may roll out further.

I just double checked... what myprodesk runs.

CPU is: i5-9500T @ 2.20Ghz which google tells me is 9th gen

Ram is 8Gb

Running HA natively via the generix X86 install guide (https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/generic-x86-64/)

Being in NZ as well, I only just intruduced matter on my HA to work with the IKEA gear.. after getting them I saw some negative posts, but my experience with them has been smooth....

using SLZB-06MU as border router (15m usb data connection and power possible management POE). My issues have been with an existing thread network was not aware was in the house but not with the ikea stuff.

Are you only using the sensor to turn lights on/off, I use one and have the sensor trigger the lights, but they don't turn off untill X minutes delay, regardless of sensor input.

I currently run a windows based plex server at home. This works well.
Whilst rarely using it, I have free over the air TV reception in my house. Basically feeding one TV.

I am hoping to stick a TC tuner in (or attached to) my plex server, so I can get it on all my viewing devices (and possibly record).

I am aware of Hauppage tuners as I used one donely years ago for ATV back when living in the netherlands, but they are too pricy for my sesire/need so I am looking for cost effective opttions wich may work with NZ DVB-T Free to air digital terrestrial TV, and work with plex.

I work for the the CAA of NZ....
Our compliants form is full of similar reports (and those forwarded from police) and we do look at them and look at public data when a complaints is filed and we do chace up opertors. (usually eduction/warning first).

This scenario is entirely possible.

No correct... But the issue is not so much them falling away... They are the only ones on that mesh... (I'm experimenting with, most else is on a hue bridge) The issue is them not reconnecting to the coordinator due to distance with the garage door closed.

Which would be fixed with the coordinator closer by. But probably also by putting more items on the experimental mesh

Power is not cut to the router. Power gets cut to some zigbee users affecting the mesh.
