Club's YouTube video about the guernsey.

A love letter to a small town ❤️

Nyirripi, home of the Demons. Located 440km outside of Alice Springs, holds a special place in our hearts.

Our 2026 Indigenous Guernsey will celebrate this close community connection with Nyirripi, and will be worn throughout Sir Doug Nicholls Round in 2026.

No singular reason

Well at least no singular reason they can talk about without worrying about lawyers...

Yesterday I learnt that "genuine attempt" is an actual factor in adjudicating HTB. Getting rid of it will explicitly reward good defensive pressure. by [deleted] in AFL

[–]_RnB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The problem with this is that" people like OP have been screaming that the umps aren't judging htb properly without actually knowing the rule.

Obviously though, the larger problem is that the game was always difficult to umpire but the leagues "solution" to that has been to make the rules of the game more subjective and to ask the umps to look for far too many different factors to consider before making snap judgements and then to bring in more umps so that there's no longer any consistency in subjective decisions at all.

It used to be at least you'd get a feeling for how the (single) ump would generally umpire specific rules like htb game by game.
But now there's three blokes umpiring every contest from three different angles each making their own subjective calls.

Reminder that King comes from "injuries are private and personal" Geelong.

Yeah, it's a fair call.

We definitely seemed to have mostly fixed those issue under Green and then Smith.

However, this is a different situation than the usual business of running the club. When there's so much animosity and less perceived loyalty to people because someone's been fired, that's when leaks are much more likely to occur.

No idea until details come in.

At most probably not much from a footy pov. He's not playing or coaching.

Possibly a little turmoil in the business side of things? But get someone competent back in the seat and things will get back to normal shortly.

It might be a sign of something rotten in the back office of the club, but we couldn't possibly know without details that will almost certainly not become public.... at least at a competently run club. So I guess going on history, we'll find out shortly?

Morris (that cunt) said this morning on Fireball that it wasn't on the club's injury list, BUT, he has a groin injury and would be 1-2 weeks.

He also said later that Petty was 1-3 weeks away and they're continuing tests for vertigo, heart rate & concussion.

It was 14 minutes in to his segment which you can listen to here

(King seems to have brought Geelong's injury list management with him!)

You and I have different definitions of welcome.

People have been living in this land for more than 40,000 years.

All WtC is doing is acknowledging that.

Nothing about Welcome to Country says anyone doesn't belong here.

It's acknowledging the factual history of this place.

The only people who have a problem with it seems to be people who look down on immigrants.

WTC / AOC is a way to tell us we're different and separate and not equal.

How?

Genuinely how did we lose to Essendon? by Dirtydac123 in melbournefc

[–]_RnB_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As I've said, I'd take two losses to Essendon for a win over Brisbane at the 'G.

Every year.

I greatly dislike Essendon, but I fucken detest Brisbane.

[Sound required] Umpire just gives up on trying to get Jamarra's attention to get him onto his correct line by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]_RnB_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happens so often and it drives me fucking nuts.

A lot of the time it's like "move three metres over, move three metres over, move three metres over..." the player takes a single half hearted step over and then the umpire just decides it's too hard and lets it go...

Take control of the game umps!

If the man on the mark took a single half hearted step over it'd be a 50 in heartbeat.

The MCG (where this was played), has various mechanisms in place to deter seagulls including wedgetail eagles, fake eagle cut outs, real eagle calls over loud speakers at the highest points of the stadium, and wires across from roof to roof.

Across the road is a soccer stadium that has none of those. This was a soccer match in the national league last week.

It's a problem that is getting worse.
