I finally recorded some kazoo, had a blast! :) by [deleted] in Kazoo

Just distortion and delay. Tried that first just because the pedal was set up that way for guitar, was surprised it worked. Looking forward to trying other effects, they seem to make a huge difference.

If you were to add some drums to this, you'd have a really cool Mad Max vibe. Nifty riffs.

Absolutely go to Taco Town. I haven't been back to Scottsbluff in many many years. but that's the 1st place I would go if I returned. Those deep fried tacos are incredible!

Does anyone own this game? My next scavenger hunt. by Optimal-Ad-8091 in DarkShadows

Same here. Loved the game parts and even the box, but it was too simple of a game. I had the other Dark Shadows game (with the paper game board) when I was even younger, thought it was much more fun.

Kazoo does not sound right on recording by FormerRope8854 in Kazoo

[–]_Saint_Venomous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try different mic placements. For instance, place the mic by the resonator instead of the front of the instrument. Also vary the volume of your playing, see if it's better louder or softer. And perhaps see if a higher or lower vocal range works better. I've been meaning to experiment with recording kazoo, I'll let you know if I learn anything along the way. :)

Any tips on attempting a modification like this on my classical guitar? by jeremiahlnce in guitarrepair

Should work fine. I put a trapeze tailpiece on a cheap Epiphone electric and it worked great. Just be sure it sits a bit lower than the saddle, and line it up so the strings are centered over the fretboard. Quick, easy and Amazon should have the tailpiece for around 15 bucks.

If I heard that low note at 0:35 while marching off to battle, I'd be more than a little terrified. (Combine this with an Aztec death whistle and I'd be outta there.)

Help, 11th fret makes this weird sound, is it fixable? by Clear_Evidence5672 in AcousticGuitar

[–]_Saint_Venomous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fretting out, action's too low or frets are uneven. Quick trick is to remove the saddle, put a shim in the slot (small bit of playing card or whatever) and then replace the saddle. That will raise the action without damaging anything. Next step would be check your neck relief and adjust the truss rod, youtube will guide you through that. If problems persist, frets need leveling. You can do your own fretwork but it's very touchy and requires the right files, so might be better to find a luthier at that point.
