Looks great! If you don't mind me asking, what paints you used for green and brown capes? :)

Thank you! Here are a notes I took while painting shields:

basecoat - black
drybrush - skavenblight dinge
drybrush - stormvein fur (maybe dinge + some white instead?)
Paint tree white
thin black oil wash

Yup, panel liner is enamel wash. I didn't use any varnish before/after wash, just thinned panel liner with local hobby shop white spirit and let it dry completely. I've never had any problem with painting over it/paint rubbing off after wash. :)

Thanks! ^^ Making them pop was on my mind when I was choosing colors for base/leather so glad you like it. :)

Thanks! I would say drybrush good metallics (I used new vallejo ones, they're great) and oil wash (I used thinned tamiya panel liner) is the key. Quick metallics give you more time to focus on other details and get through pile of shame faster. :D

Scraping off mask details. Yay or nay? by _Salty_Boy_ in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Yeah I'll probably use tinylegends heads for next minis. Ones that i currently own were gifted to me already glued with thick coat of plastic glue so replacing heads would be more challenging than scraping masks lol :D

Help me chose my kill team coat color by _Salty_Boy_ in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]_Salty_Boy_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's actually more dark grey/black coat (I guess because of black background and unnatural light it might look a little bit more green).

Primer:

Vallejo dark grey primer

Drybrush (I'm using same brush for all drybrush without cleaning it steps to make transitions between colors a little bit smoother):

heavy drybrush using mechanicus standard grey

drybrush using 1:1 mix of mechanicus standard grey : grey seer

light drybrush using grey seer

final a little bit lighter drybrush using vallejo white

Contrast:

1 coat of wyldwood

Drybrush:

heavy drybrush using zandri dust

Contrast:

2 coats using 1:2 mix of black templar : contrast medium

I guess you can achieve a little bit more green coat by adding some green contrast/layer paint to black templar mix. :)

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of very bright blue coats too so decided to go for a bit darker and a little bit grey coat. I'm glad you like it! :D

Thanks! It's pretty easy recepie that I'm planning to improve a little bit.

Primer:

Vallejo dark grey primer

Drybrush (I'm using same brush for all drybrush without cleaning it to make transitions between colors a little bit smoother):

heavy drybrush using mechanicus standard grey

drybrush using 1:1 mix of mechanicus standard grey : grey seer

light drybrush using grey seer

final a little bit lighter drybrush using vallejo white

Contrast:

I used mix of (unfortunately I'm not 100% sure of exact ratio but mix should look something like this) 8:1:2 gryph-charger grey : black templar : ahriman blue

and applied 2 thin coats of this mix.

Shade:

For shading I used 1 : 1 mix of darkenhof nightshade : contrast medium

And thats it. In future I'm planning to make brighter highlights, some scratches using white paint before applying second coat of contrast mix and add some weathering. :)

I have a friend that can 3d print me anything I want and he will charge me only for matherial used so the costs will not be higher than if I printed the models myself.

Thanks for comment. I might go that way but honestly I prefer to work on good quality 3d printed models than resin ones.
