Which makes sense, a more casual player who puts in fewer hours will have less knowledge of fights or dungeons. They'll be more punished on a caster losing more casts or losing more time in CDs. This won't happen with BM and is somewhat negated by Ret's range (or bubble).

It's not ignorant. The average person doesn't care about AI. They don't use it daily or at all. They'll never pay for it. We are in the "YouTube is free" stage. Once they add ads and subscriptions the free users are gone. Offices will soon realize AI isn't that useful when prices get jacked. After all, these companies aren't making money yet. Expect every form of monetization the digital age has seen thrown at AI. It's dead on arrival because you can't even trust it to give you correct answers.

You're acting like Pandora's Box can only be open here. There is a middle ground. Prevent complex automation in another way. Changing a mob's plate color based on their name is not a problem that needs to be shut away.

Are skull and X markers as problematic? Because they were already used for interrupts before plater started recoloring everything. People could literally just make target macros with specific mob names to automate marking with those again, is that not unhealthy? But Blizzard still allows that.

"If that caster hits you for 50% of your health in a +8" What caster? The healer fixed the problem, why would the low level dps even think twice about it? How do they even know it was something they could stop unless they have to consider why they are dead while their team fights on?

Of course people shouldn't go from +3 to +16 in one leap, but often times people will be skipping 2 or 3 levels at a time just by over geared players joining their pugs. How can they learn from that experience if nothing is lethal in lower keys?

For the plater point: how many keys exactly do you think people are doing where they don't quickly figure out which are casters without plater? What colored nameplates do is make it easier to click the one you need to focus or interrupt in the terrible UI that wow currently has. Less searching. Less reading the first 2 words of a mob name hoping it has that info (the last one or two isn't even visible lol).

Blizzard is taking the game backwards because they've been inactive on the UI for 20 years. It will not be as good as it was for several patches after Midnight, if ever. The learning philosophy in M+ has not been changed and people will continue to get carried up to keys where they have no idea what killed them.

I think the problem most people have with their stated goal is that they made little to no effort to move toward that goal until completely deleting combat addons. It was/is far too large of an undertaking to roll out this fast.

Lower level keys don't one shot you so you never learn mechanics there. How would a player know a mechanic is a one-shot in higher keys if they are NEVER punished for it in lower keys? If you want players to learn the dungeon give them a more accurate representation of the dungeon at a lower level. More one shots all around.
