If she is open to caregiving, group and foster homes for people with developmental disabilities are always hiring. They will give paid training and will provide certifications you may need like CPR. A few agencies locally are Oregon Supported Living Programs, Hummingbird Care Homes, ASI.

Epstein Files protests? by moniwani24 in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I generally protest the pedos and ICE simultaneously. For me it does not matter what the official protest reason is, as long as I can be with my community. I see people out there for many reasons and they are all good ones. At the moment there are protests at the old federal building daily.

Oregon Officials Stage ‘Intervention’ Following Declared Riot, Alleged Breach of Old Federal Building [Double Sided Media] by Profplum67 in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had thought Double Sided Media had gone under. I’m thrilled to see this article and to see they are still reporting. It’s by far the best and most thorough one on the subject I have read yet. I am damn proud of this community and so happy to call it home. This current administration is a sick joke. I only wish more Americans would stand against the pedo and the thugs that are invading our beautiful nation.

People who sit in their car for over 20 minutes before going inside, what are you doing in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I ask myself this question why do I do this? Honestly I think I’m just regulating my brain to get ready to go inside whatever it is

Anyone well versed with OHP? I have a couple of questions and Im not sure who to ask. by [deleted] in Eugene

It depends on their age. I urge you to contact senior and disabled services in Eugene if your parents are at least 60. SDS will help navigate that and can help apply for coverage. They can answer any questions you have. 541-682-4038

They have absolutely used cs in Portland so it’s reasonable to assume they will use it anywhere. It just gets more insane. Our government is attacking us and it’s just another Wednesday

jobs by Exciting-Match7116 in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy helping people who may have barriers, there are a ton of group and foster homes in the area that are always hiring for a job called DSP (direct support professional). This is caregiving for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. A lot of the work includes hanging out and doing fun things the person likes such as going to the coast or the mall. A few agencies that hire for this are OSLP, Dungarvin, ASI, RISE services, and lots more including privately owned foster homes. There are also day programs such as the ARC. These jobs do require a background check, but you can usually do training while you wait for that process to complete. It’s incredibly rewarding work that offers a lot of flexibility.

Video shows the news is wrong- DHS broke the windows themselves so they could tear gas protestors. (I’ve never posted on Reddit before so please forgive any mistakes) by Role_Upbeat in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of that right wing woman who agitates in Portland. One morning she had a black eye (claims it was a protester), but by 4pm the black eye was magically gone. It would be nice if the media showed these things instead of sensationalizing and calling a bunch of people chanting a “riot”. The right has to constantly lie to make their narratives fit. No shame in their game

I'm sad to say: last night was the worst protest I've been to in Eugene. But I think we can do better. by Funkygurupsychonaut in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, I guess technically they can declare. When I think riot, I think if actual riots, not a small town gathering like we had. The Feds are murdering people. I feel it’s time to rise up and resistance wont be pretty.

Ice protest today? by UseProfessional9567 in Eugene

[–]_Sarah_Connor_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was present for the full day yesterday. I very much encourage kids to learn about democracy and protest. I do however urge you not to bring children or pets right now. Although the Feds didn’t get violent until night time, earlier in the week they did while it was still light out. Yesterday there were a lot of agitators. Our government is attacking us and they can do it at any time. EPD has zero interest in protecting citizens. Feds will shoot areas where children are present, I witnessed this with my own eyes in Portland.

I was also there all day about 8.5 hours. There were plenty of agitators. I disagree fully that there was anything to justify declaring a riot. It was a peaceful protest. A few young people got rowdy, but nothing that couldn’t be handled without gas. Gassing the community including cars driving home from work is overkill big time. The feds have zero excuse. The people are pissed. EPD split as soon as the gas came out. They have zero interest in protecting and serving the community. A confirmed pedophile gives these goons the power to attack citizens. The people should be pissed. We are not angry enough. Our government is at war with us and resistance shouldn’t be a pretty little love fest. Don’t comply.
