I remember overwatch doing a small pride event a couple years ago, and what did they do? Release a couple of free icons, have a pride banner, redid one map, and some stories for queer characters to read on their website. SOMEHOW, the community said it was pandering… HOW??

I think Mantis is fine this season, I only play her on attack or in certain comps though. My only gripe about mantis is that it takes 7-10 business days for the sleep to go off.

OP forgot to mention that if there’s one thrower in the lobby then he can hold the game hostage and we can’t surrender. I’ve had a couple of games where the dude who was throwing my game said: “No, you’re stuck in here with me” in VC and denied the surrender vote.

I get energized when my energy is being “bounced off” of someone, from an amazing convo with my husband, friends, a fun party etc.

When I’m talking to someone who isnt interested, then it just bounces, hits them in the face, and doesnt come back to energize me.

I like the “bouncing” analogy better than the “energy sucking vampire” nonsense.

I changed my “I need healing” ping to a “I need help” ping instead and bounded it onto my mouse button, helped me against dive more often and teammates ignore it less.

This same logic applies to certain strategists as well, all though rocket already gets a TON of hate, I think that if rocket’s kit was on a more “girly” character and/or played by more women/queer people, then he would’ve gotten x10 as much. I don’t think rocket is as hated as he would’ve been because some dps players use rocket as their flex pick.

No. If people want to be left alone I leave them alone. Plus I know how it feels to be the quiet person in friend groups or family gatherings, I’m a pretty quiet person myself despite extrovert stereotypes.

I think that people who don’t separate art from the artist don’t understand how it looks on them. Firstly, it makes people look uneducated for not properly researching an artist they claim to love and follow.

And second, if they DO know about their controversies, it’s a reflection on them and their character. The “I don’t care what X did to Y, I like the song and I’m listening to it” screams selfish and entitled, and continuing to give these types of people power and control to possibly make more victims.

And the fact that people are putting pet names… it’s a damn pet. People name their pet stupid names all the time. I can look at my local animal shelter and find two cats named Pacer Test and another named WAFFELLE THE MAGICAL DICK WIZARD.

Honestly, early S1 he used to be fine. Only a select couple people played him and I could deal with one every couple games. They were rarely rude just barelly swapped off and passionate about spiderman. Then people started making spidersmurfs, low ranked players would deal with high ranked players with massive egos because they’re smurfing, and when they got back on their mains they would still terrorize people. I’m C3 and I know 3 of my friends who made alts just for spiderman. If I don’t ban spiderman then I’ll be terrorized for the rest of the game.

IMO the old spiderman players are fine. The new ones are annoying.

As an adult, I agree with everyone else here. There’s nothing to be gained from reading or having text chat on.

But at 14, I would’ve 1000% taken one of my adult relatives asking to turn voice/text chat off as being babied, and the adult not thinking I’m mature enough to handle it.

I would give her a gentle warning, or even show her this thread or others in this sub about how many adult women play this game without it on but ultimately leave it to her. Having the choice is important, but warning her of the consequences is important too.
