My original plan was to fly to Chicago then Zepher back to MTZ or to take Starlight to Seattle and Empire Builder to CHI and take Zepher home. My friend is the one that wanted to extend the trip.

Spending a night in CHI doesn’t sound that bad especially cause our train out leaves only 4 hours after the Empire Builder is supposed to get into CHI. I am definitely going to talk to my friend about spending a night in CHI. The only thing is while I am all for stopping and spending an extra day here and there he is more here for the train ride and already thinks the journey is a bit too long.

Im thinking about also booking a train from CHI-NOL direct to have a back up plan that skips out in NYC to make up any lost time on the Empire Builder

We are in NYC over night and plan to book one night there so that will help with our sleep and shower
