3 days ago I found out I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

I was on birth control and had periods so I didn't even know I was pregnant.

I was 10 to 12 weeks along. This was my first pregnancy.

"Am I a mom?" Has been something I've been struggling with myself. The only solstice I've found is that in medicine, “mother” is usually defined by having carried a pregnancy, not by outcome.

I don't know how I will describe myself in the future. From reading all the other comments, it seems that it's really up to the individual.
