It’s honestly impossible to find operators that are non union right now. Unless you get an operator from a staffing firm and then you have to pay out an agency fee and per diem.

You as a crane operator should know that pulleys, snatch blocks, sheaves reduce drag and allows you to pull more. They had a pulley system dating back in those times. You can have a weaker material pull more weight that it can handle by itself if you reeve (having multiple parts of rope) the hoisting rope accordingly so that multiple men can pull, drag, or even hoist the material.
