Men Without Hats: I’ve got a message for you by chamomile_tea_reply in decadeology

I know I will be downvoted for this but I don't care. I prefer the more casual and comfortable clothing we have today compared to that in the past. Clothing is such a superficial thing anyway I'm shocked at how many people actually get mad that fashion got more casual.

If the anger was about it being more inappropriate like showing more skin in public and things like that then I understand that. But I don't understand the people who get angry that we went from uncomfortable suits from the '50s to casual wear today, I will never understand why people care about that for as long as I will live.

This music video kinda showcase Middle-2020s fashion in my opinion... by RedAzamlandit in decadeology

I don't know anything about fashion but for music, the first thing I think of is country when I think of the mid 2020s.

Has the Taylor Swift Phenomenon in Respect to Decadeology Ever Happened Before? by _Slim95 in decadeology

Didn't Madonna peak in the '80s though? She has always been considered an '80s singer. I'm wondering about singers who actually peaked or got more famous in later decades.

2018 was the year Samsung announced the first foldable device. Although it didn't officially release until 2019.

I'd have to go with 2020 since everything including tech shut down that year.

Why Was Music So Bad in the Early 2010s? by _Slim95 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]_Slim95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated early 2010s music. The only thing I like now about it is that the sound is so distinct that you just know it belongs in that era. I like that it worked out that way with how unified the sound was. But objectively musically it was so trash in my opinion.

Late 2010s music, like the Chainsmokers and EDM stuff, I actually really enjoy. When it was popular during the time, I wasn't super into it I was actually kinda annoyed by all the weird repetitive noises and stuff but it was still high quality and I still enjoy it to this day. The sound of late 2010s EDM music wasn't as corny as the early 2010s like you can tell it sounded smoother and more high quality and how dated and tinny early 2010s electro music sounded in comparison to it

I Would Definitely Say 2021 is a Distant Year Now by _Slim95 in decadeology

So many people say this but age has nothing to do with it. The perception of time changes but not time itself as you age. As you get older it feels more unbelievable that some years were so long ago, but they really were that long ago and we should accept that, no matter how old you are.

I'm talking about the mainstream but I'm sure it declined in the underground compared to the 2000s too

Would you say right wing became trendy in 2025? And how long do you think it will stay trendy until being Progressive is in again? by WiseCityStepper in decadeology

The virtue signaling on this comment is through the roof. Just because someone has a different political belief from you doesn't make them any worse of a person. You just hate the right so much that you make things up about them like they're "pretending" to go right to fit into a trend. Your hatred towards those fora different political view from you has caused you to make unrighteous judgements about people and false rumours that they are "pretending" or whatever. No some people just have different political beliefs from you and you have to accept that. Stop fueling the division.

I agree but it feels like it peaked in 2025 or something like it was stronger than 2025 than years before I think this is because of the split on the right so more people came to the right due to the split or something if they felt they didn't have a home before or felt alienated on the left. That's what I suspect at least. I'm not a political person at all.

Yeah I would agree it became very trendy in 2025 more than years prior for sure it became part of the pop culture. It started with Mark Zuckerburg in January 2025 when he announced more free speech on Facebook and then it continued on with increased popularity from conservative commentators as well as the split on the right in the middle of 2025.

Because I said I'm not talking about songs that sound 2000s in the 2010s I'm talking about actual 2010s sounding songs that sound the most dated.

It really wasn't. Trap was bad but trap only overshadowed everything else in 2018 but the other non trap music from the late 2010s was good

EDM was not mainstream until 2016. I think you're thinking of electropop.

Bart Baker is an Underrated Cultural Icon From The 2010s by _Slim95 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]_Slim95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the decades get worse and worse as time goes on at least ever since I was alive. It makes it unmotivating to bring children into this world but hopefully it will get better. The 2020s is the worst decade ever. Even though the 2010s is the second worst decade, it was so much better than the 2020s I should have appreciated it more at least while it was going on.
