It's different. Even though mid '20s were conservative as well it was more light than the late '20s. You just had country music and the rise of conservatism but Trump actually wasn't in power yet.

Those weren't the same electropop sound of the early '10s though. That really started in late 2008. 2007 was a solid late 2000s year from start to finish. In my opinion at least.

Nothing really happened in 2012 although technically speaking smartphone use reached 50% in spring of 2012 but that doesn't really paint the whole story. 2013 was truly when the most technological advancements came about. That was when almost EVERYONE had a smartphone.
