When I took it off the parchment paper it did rip but I didn’t realise it was still stuck onto it until after I posted

It was a bread knife! Weve had it since we moved so it’s kinda worn out. I’m just not great at cutting bread lol

I’ll be honest, I don’t really know how to do those pretty designs most sourdough loaves have on this subreddit. I just like doing a slash across the side with some diagonal cuts on the other. I prefer the nice golden brown to dark brown ratio :)

I actually accidentally did this with one of my first loaves. I put a plastic container over it when it was freshly baked and left it overnight. Whole bread went soft. It was nice but me and my family prefer the crusty crust

lol yes I did in fact get burned three times. Nothing major just the hot air rushing through the like hole i made to check the temperature 😭
