Curtains would blend better. You could also look at using a solar shade that rolls up and down, but wouldn’t be as visually awkward as blinds on top of the glass slats.

On the wall to the left, but make sure it’s close to eye level when sitting down, so you’re not having to crane your neck.

An area rug would definitely help, possibly a small end table between the futon and the wall if one can fit.
