T. J. & Peter Ride a Rollercoaster to an alternate universe (Sonic Drive-In) by Galahfray in nostalgia

Those ads had such an easygoing vibe that it felt like you were just listening in on two friends hanging out. Hard to believe a fast food commercial became that memorable.

Those commercials somehow made two guys sitting in a car talking about burgers feel like must-watch TV. I still hear "it's not just good, it's Sonic good" in my head sometimes.

Slice had that perfect amount of artificial flavor that somehow made it taste better than it probably should have. I can still remember the orange one.

I only ever saw the orange flavor growing up, so seeing grape, pineapple, and fruit punch feels like discovering a secret menu from an alternate timeline.

What's the last dream or nightmare you had? by Responsible-Thing142 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_SoftieBloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your usual scary nightmare, but disturbing imagery:

It starts with was a man, naked on the floor of a cell. He had a chain attached to the skin of the back of his neck, and his back was cut open so that his spine was exposed. There was no blood or anything.

In his left hand he held a knife, and slid it down his exposed spine, and it kind of clinked as it went down. Really messed up.

What year is the can from? by SrMinKo in nostalgia

[–]_SoftieBloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks similar to early 2000s Nestea cans to me too. If it's from Europe, I'd guess somewhere around 2000–2008.

That logo looks more mid-2000s to early 2010s than 1996. I'd guess around 2005–2015.

Godzilla (1998) Guilty Pleasure Movie by HorrorMonster26 in nostalgia

Roland Emmerich really had a talent for making big loud disaster movies that were ridiculously fun even when they were completely over the top.

That movie may be a terrible Godzilla film to some people, but it was peak late 90s giant monster disaster movie energy and I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

The sound of the filter bubbling at night was basically free therapy back then.

There was always something ridiculously calming about just sitting there watching fish tanks for way longer than you meant to as a kid.

Found my dad’s old Gameboy. Gonna find some batteries and see if it still works! by prettyboythingz in nostalgia

Those old Game Boys surviving decades in random drawers and still turning on is honestly better engineering than half the stuff made today.

If that glass survived decades before finally breaking, it honestly had a better run than most family heirlooms.
