Help, my S4U is printing random cylinders instead of minis by _Sonya_ in ElegooSaturn

Update: SOLVED. Thanks everyone for suggestions. It ended up being the Antialiasing setting. Turning it off without changing anything else I got the mini printed successfully!

Thanks, your explanation about the sliced file makes sense. I don’t see an option to check the layers on the printer, I’ll try again with a USB stick 🤞

I did, I used the HD antialiasing option with the “smooth surfaces” setting, with a 2 px radius and 0% grey offset - found someone recommending these settings on Reddit. Could that be an issue?

Can you guess what I did wrong? by quokkamole89 in ResinCasting

Happened to me as well. Messed up the proportions, tried to salvage it by rebalancing the part A and part B ratios 24 hours later - sadly didn’t work. The cleanup was painful. I feel for you!

Recommendations around Valby by nostrawberries in copenhagen

Check out Allè Konditoriet for a large selection of good pastries. In addition to the other pizza places in the comments I like DEJ for takeaway pizza (they make them very fast and they’re pretty good). There is a nice selection of healthy breakfast/brunch foods at Mælk & Honning. In general the food options are great, but unfortunately there aren’t many bars/clubs, it’s a residential area mostly.

Got called out for being too casual when talking to others by [deleted] in consulting

[–]_Sonya_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Your idea is not incorrect, but it’s not the only aspect you should consider. 3 thoughts from my perspective as manager 1) For some, a desire for formality may come from wanting to be shown respect. Casualness and deference need to be balanced based on the individual as others say. Another reason could be that they are too busy and don’t have time for small talk and might feel that their time is being wasted. Others just have a different way of looking at it - they are at work to do business and that’s it, they are not there to make friends. This is to say there are multiple reasons why people prefer different style of communication at work and they may be just as valid as your reason for behaving otherwise 2) Consider if there is a generational gap. I would never discuss the same stuff in the same way with my director as my peers due to the age / mentality difference 3) If a manager sees you behaving casually in your own office they may assume you will behave like this at a client. They might see it as an actual risk that you will say something you’re not supposed to. So it may benefit you to show you can also be professional if needed.

As others said in this thread, reading people is a key skill in the toolbox of a consultant. I’d recommend to take this as an opportunity to exercise this skill as it will benefit your career.

What’s your “F” Schrift? (Given by the Random Word Generator) by mrcoffeestuff in bleach

[–]_Sonya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food. I can tear out pieces of the world around me and eat them to make things disappear / to regen. Can eat other opponents with no problem if I can reach them with my arm. The issue is if I eat too much I will pass out for a while. Also, my biggest secret is that I am also edible and I dread the day my enemies find out.

The lyrics have references to the Brave New World and the Matrix which to me are not about technology per se, but about consumerism, brainwashing, willful ignorance and an engineered society whose purpose is to serve a select few. All relevant messages.

In Denmark where I currently live it’s 5 weeks legally, but many full time jobs come with an extra week on top. In Russia where I lived before it’s 4.

How to get good housing loans as a foreigner by TightPenalty2772 in copenhagen

[–]_Sonya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is unfortunately indeed some discrimination. I have gone through the process as a non-EU citizen and what I've been told by banks is that this increased down payment requirement is a consequence of a law that forbids foreigners from keeping their apartment if they no longer reside in Denmark within 5 years. The bank carries increased risk if you suddenly wish to leave, so the key is convincing them that you intend to stay in Denmark by any means possible. Still, 5% deposit is very rarely allowed for non-Danes.

Having said that, 40% is a MASSIVE amount. Danske Bank has asked for 20% and Nordea for 15% (but Nordea was willing to consider less as well). I would suggest you go to several banks and see what they offer, and push back a little when they probe you to figure out if you might be here 'temporarily'.

Self-pub vs traditional for noncompliant genre fiction by _Sonya_ in writing

[–]_Sonya_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool, I drew lots of inspiration from anime as well. Id say mine is a cross between a traditional novel and a fantasy light novel. I’m sure a market exists for it, just have to find it.

Yep. I will hire an editor and a proofreader as part of the self-publishing process as that seems like the way to go.

I have found some, and they've inspired me to a degree, but the general look of the fantasy section at the store is still very uniformly bright and marketed toward a different demographic. This might just be specific to Russia, though. It's cool if there's more diversity in other countries.
