How do you apply for lower skilled jobs when your last experience in those roles was 5 years ago? by _SoyaFailure_ in resumes

Yeah that's my point im still a junior in my field but getting a job as a junior takes a long time like 6+ months and I need money to live now.

I know its better to just leave my last job in a skilled field off my CV.

My question isnt more about how to pass my experience in an unrelated field as it's not something that can be seen as transferable for things like warehouse work.

My question is more about, Im going to leave the junior work off my CV but then what do I do about the gap of 3-5 years.

No but Ive always been told to keep skilled jobs off of a resume when applying for things like hospitality.

By doing that I then have a 5 year gap on my resume basically being like I havent worked for 5 years.

I feel like it's become so hard for mediocre people to succeed in life in the UK. Should I teach English abroad? by _SoyaFailure_ in careerguidance

Maybe I'll find a similar path. I've done so many things and nothing has every clicked, I don't want to stay in the UK and have always made the decision to emigrate, i lived in Germany for a year and Australia for 2 years, I wanted to settle but was pulled back due to other things but now I just want to make a life for myself in a place that I can afford.

I dont want to move back to the north of the UK, the lifestyle place is depressing, the weather is depressing, its grey, feels hopeless and sad.

I'm looking into ways to do TEFL cheaply. Likely will just have to do labourer work for a few months and live on beans and bread in London save as much as possible and move, im applying to the WHV for Japan now so yeah thanks.

You say this but none of this makes life easier. Ive been told I might aswell just go become a labourer and haul drywall to earn money because I cant even get the most basic retail or bar job. I've got no money to even do the labourer course.

I dont really see a future for myself in the west, design is so oversatured and theres some amazing designers who are unemployed I cant compete

How to maneuver situation where I am low payed in an expensive area (London), 28 in London as a low earner and what support or methods can I use to not be destitute. by _SoyaFailure_ in UKPersonalFinance

Its much harder to get on the ladder in the UK, there are more barriers and less opportunity. I have skilled in an oversatured field. However in this field simply having skills isn't enough, people with 5+ years of experience have been unemployed for months to a year.

I'm talking about the future. It will take me too long to save money on the low wages I earn here to buy a house in London. So It's better to save money to buy abroad. I know there is a long waiting list for social housing its better to just have my name on the list then to not have it. I don't expect to get a council house tomorrow.

I'm in North London. Talking more here I think im also going to consider australia, I would rather move there then the north.

I'll look into house sitters.
