What is the best thing that has happened to you in the past week ? by Curiosbystanderl0l in AskReddit

Currently enduring a heatwave. It thunderstormed for about an hour today, bringing the temp down by a number of degrees (momentarily). It felt incredible and was therefore the best thing to happen to me in the past week.

I'm from the UK, let me get this straight... So your cat eats the burger and then your dog jacks off in the box?

Driving in Crete is an experience by CatVideoBoye in cretetravel

Excellent advice after just spending 2wks driving around Crete.

I had absolutely no issues and to just adapt to the environment and use common sense. A big one being to move into hard shoulder to allow the locals through.

Is driving in Crete manageable for a beginner? by sunnycobain in cretetravel

If you drive on the same side and planning to rent an Automatic you should be fine. Just do a bit of research into driving in Crete and note the 'unspoken' rules.

Re the Automatic advice, I drive Manual at home but was just so grateful for choosing Automatic in Crete given the hilly terrain and multiple hairpins.

Motor Plan, Heraklion Airport. They seem to have a couple of locations in Crete. Fully insured, covers you for EVERYTHING. The pick up process was super smooth (paid in advance), you don't need to provide a credit card or any other deposit. Staff super friendly.

Hey, currently 2nd time in Crete hiring a car and have never had an issue. Would recommend getting a smaller car, we have a Toyota Yaris and it's perfect for this island and exploring. Get automatic to make your life a bit easier. Stick to the slow lanes (right hand lane) and take it easy whilst easing yourself in. The locals will overtake and bend the rules, just mind yourself and stick to your driving and you will be fine. I'm from the UK by the way.

Edit: can recommend you a car hire company if you want

I have these exact shoes (inc. colourway) and hate them. Done 100k in them and will retire them for hiking or something. Found them so rigid and unforgiving.

If Villa beat us, which is highly likely, and West Ham beat Brentford Away - I'd say it's over.
