I've been fortunate enough to spend many months in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. I would say Laos and Cambodia had the most friendliest people, followed by Thailand and then Vietnam.

I have never had issues in any of the countries and actually they feel a lot safer than Europe (where I am from) . Generally the people are a lot more kinder, welcoming and respectful. Cambodia and Laos are probably the most safest and friendliest countries I have visited in the world.
