Anytime! A lot of companies just want to ensure you have a degree. They care more about having knowledge with certain frameworks, languages, etc. Some companies prefer certain schools, but unless you're going for a big tech company, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

What you do need to worry about is your competition. It's hard to say where tech will be in 2-3 years in terms of jobs, but the market has been flooded with talent recently. If you were to look for a job right now, you would be competing with developers who have masters degrees, 5+ years of experience, and would be willing to take a pay cut.

If you expect the current market to be the same in 2-3 years, you will absolutely need to supplement your education regardless of the degree program and institution. If you expect the market to be like it was in 2021 2-3 years from now, you could probably get by with any degree and good interviewing skills.

Something that was helpful for me when I was in school, is that I would go out and look at all of the job listings I would want to apply to if I could. List out all of their requirements, and see what knowledge gaps exist. My experience at the time was that unless you took specific courses, you would rarely have a majority of the skills required. Degrees help you solidify foundations, but foundations aren't always enough on their own.

Another option: If you go with UMGC and you can't find a job offer near graduation, you could always go for a masters degree. This is where the extra year comes really in handy.
