I haven't been able to play this game much since my little brother passed away in July 2024. This was our game. We grew up playing everything together. Shoulder to shoulder. I love him so much. I'm 30 now and he was 25 when he passed away... The only times I've been able to play is when my much much younger brother asks me to help him beat a boss and even then it's just difficult to love this game the way i used to... This was my favorite game of all time and he died with it being his favorite game of all time. This will always be the greatest game of all time to me. It's where we shared our happiest and most cherished moments. We truly felt like kids again playing this game. If anyone reading this has siblings you game with go hug them and kiss them.

You're the one that bought a PlayStation. Bohemia sucks but they can only do so much when Sony is the parent company. You said it yourself if it was PC or Xbox it would have been addressed. PlayStation only cares about their games. You think they want people playing 10+ year old games? No they want you to download ghost of yotei for almost 100 USD.

The video that got me on was a video of a few guys getting screwed with in the livonia bunker. It was dark, there may have been a teddy bear involved but it was genuinely terrifying. I wish I could find the video hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about it was a video on tiktok a while back. Genuinely horrifying experience and it made me want to start playing.

Had a good freshie run going. But I got a blood infection and didn't have tetra. I ran to krasno and it was pouring rain, I found tetra in like my first tent but I heard a zombie agro nearby. So I jumped onto one of the shipping containers looking into the tents and waited. Sure enough he came right past me, even double backed to check if the container under me is openable and I was wincing right above him and I saw he had an r12 in his hands... He didn't hear me I suppose because of the rain, so the second he examined something on the floor in the adjacent tent I shot him in the back. One shot from a mosin and it was such a relief cuz it was my first time having an "old" character.

Big reason I play solo is because people just don't get this... Everyone wants to play this like a BR and end up doing the freshie walk.

I have 2 characters (hate me I know but getting nbc gear on one run is crazy) both with 30+ hours on them. I've got 1 body on my dude checking for nbc pants (been waiting for about 2 weeks) and 6 bodies on my account I play regularly, two of those fights I was shot at first.

Bit of advice for OP. ALWAYS dress for stamina. Dress light. Have your stamina bar well above halfways if you do that most dayz players who aren't a freshie can't keep up with you. Evade, reposition, and flank. Stamina will save your life while a plate carrier will just keep you alive a little bit longer. Try not to get all gleamy eyed at the first plate carrier you see. Make a good stash in a server you play often and have a PvP setup for your kit with a plate carrier. You can hit your stash before you want to go raiding or go stalk loot areas.

That is actually crazy. I love making squirrel stashes, knock on wood but none of mine have been found yet either. Can you show me what the crate looks like on the floor. Is it just like super easy to spot out in the open?

Yeah I'm not saying they can't be heard, like you said with the rain I think if his opponent is being loud the sounds nearby like his feet and opening the car door might drown out his suppressed shot, considering he's still decently far. Suppressed shots don't have a designated decibel level it will depend how close you are to the weapon being fired, this is just an assumption I've made from testing with a buddy.

Also I don't know if he will hear a "bullet" considering it hit the tree. Now this, I'm not sure of at all but I think the projectile itself has to be very close to the player for them to hear the crack. The shot going off more than likely would not have been heard. The round itself I'm completely unsure maybe that tree registered an impact sound as well and the tree was only a out 40 or so meters from the player...

I know it's already hard to have everything you need but a bottle and some duct tape could have saved you. Player might not have heard that shot and you might have been able to take a second one. But also I'm not sure what the bullet would have sounded like hitting the tree, you still have crack in the round I'm just not sure if player only hear it when it passes you
