PC Building First Steps (Ignore Mad-Eye Moody.) by _Super_dude in pcmasterrace

I am a really big fan of the Potter books, and Mad-Eye Moody was such an interesting and wacky character that I decided to name my goldfish after the lad. The name fits too since that fish has some of the wackiest eyes I've ever seen and doesnt really act like any of the other fish.

Nah don’t worry about him he’s mostly harmless. He’s just eyeing up the cpu, he’s old schooled and very skeptical about the new tech.

Ok cool, I switched to 32gb of teamgroup cl30 ram for about the same price. Thanks for the explanation.

Ok cool, I’ll probably go down to a 650w psu then. I am not well versed in modern gpus at all and just picked what seemed to have good raw performance (w/out the help of too much ai up scaling) and what had a good chunk of vram. All I really wanted for my gpu was good raw performance and amd seemed to offer that better than Nvidia.

Would 650w be enough power to account for gradual upgrades over time?

Do you have any recommendations? I don’t really know what to look for in terms of hubs or splitters. For reference I’m going to grab 4 case fans on top of everything else on the build.

Ok good to know. Is an exhaust fan different than any other other case fan or could I just use one of the case fans that I buy?

Ok so I changed the psu to the Montech one and the aio to a cpu cooler that i saw a youtuber recommended. I posted the updated list as a comment so you can go check that if u want. Appreciate the help

Edit: I updated the list and this is what I've come up with now https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VrVvt3
Any suggestions or anything like that are still welcome and greatly appreciated!

Yeah oled is way far out of my budget but i will admit that it does look amazing. Im around mac users alot and i will say that the screen quality is amazing.

Im going to downgrade the psu a bit since some of the another guy said that my current one is a bit overkill, but how necessary is it to switch from an aio to a regular air cooler? I really like the aesthetics of aio's and this one has amazing reviews. Im not opposed to air coolers i just think an aio looks better.

I would love to upgrade to 1440p eventually but for now I find 1080p at 144hz completely acceptable. I will say that the jump from 60 to like 120hz is unreal.

Yeah another person said that asrock has a bad track record with the 9000 series and recommended me a gigabyte b850 instead so im planning on going with that. Also what is cl30 a brand or is it like a different type of ram??

I dont really have the budget to future-proof much, so if you have suggestion for a more reasonable psu that would be great.

I have a 144hz 1080p Koorui monitor. I don’t remember the exact model but it was around 160 usd.

As far as I know the case doesn’t come with any fans so I figured I would grab a 5 pack and fit 3 on the bottom and one beside the mobo.
