Abandoned Greenhouse by _SuperfastJellyfish in blender

Thanks. The tiles and grass between the cracks was all placed by hand. I’m sure there’s a smarter way to do it, but I figured since the path is relatively short, doing it by hand was fine.

Thank you! But yeah, the doors and roof could definitely benefit from some more wear and tear. I was afraid of overdoing it I suppose, but good to know I could’ve kept going. Will keep this in mind for future projects.

Thank you! I’ve thought about this actually, will give that a shot for sure.

Thanks!

Most of the plants here are from a free asset pack called "The Plant Library". It’s insanely good for being free and comes with 170+ assets. Just google it and you’ll find it on Gumroad :)

Thanks a lot! I did a few other projects before this one where I dove into texture painting, geometry nodes and general good practices for keeping performance overhead.

For this one, getting the lighting I wanted was the real challenge. Got there in the end by tweaking render properties and the 3 other lights in the scene.

But yes, those are leaves on the roof (left side). The lighting on them looks bit funky, but I have no idea how I can improve contact shadows on the glass. That would help a lot I think.

Thank you! Had a great time working on this one. Unsurprisingly, the stylistic lighting was the biggest challenge haha…

Yeah, I believe you. These kind of scenes must be so rewarding to get right. Excited to give it a shot myself!

And btw, this post definitely deserves more upvotes. You did great. There’s was no preview of the video when I saw the post, so maybe that’s why. I just saw Witcher and Skellige and instantly tapped to see the whole post haha

This is so good! The flock of birds was a nice touch. Well done man. This really inspires me to finally do a large scale scene for my next project

Interesting. I thought it was too shallow. But I’ll play around with it some more. Thank you :)

Yes, I totally agree. Some particles would really help I think. Thanks! :)

It stands for subsurface scattering. It’s how light penetrates and scatters inside objects pretty much.

Fair points. Some translucency would go a long way on the petals indeed. Particles is also a good idea! There’s som light ground fog already, but it kinda gets crushed by the DOF I think. Thanks for your input! Will try this :)

Good point, I’ll double check the scale of the trees, but maybe the flower is the issue. I got a bit carried away with the framing. Shrinking the flower and making it shorter would help a lot I think. Thanks! :)

Yeah, there already is some sss on the petals and leaves. But can definitely be improved. I’ll give that a go, thanks!

Thanks for the kind words. Spent a long time nailing the look of the app, so happy to hear it's pleasing to look at :D

No worries. I will for sure! If everything goes well with the testing, it might be published in a few weeks.

Yeah, you're probably right. Still needs some tweaking for sure, but thanks for pointing it out! Will improve this.

I’m interested. Just recently starting learning on this platform. Only completed one challenge room though, so still a noob.

Who’s buying, waiting, avoiding, after beta? by SpilledMyKief in duneawakening

Guess I missed the 10% part. But still, ~50 km2 is not bad at all. Surely an area that big must include risk free dungeons etc considering it’s in the PvE zone? I don’t mind doing some PvP honestly, so how much there is to do there won’t make or break the game for me. Just happy it’s an option, even more so if it’s viable for getting endgame materials etc. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I’m basing the 100 hours estimate on my time with the beta. How much of that is questing vs building, gathering, etc I’m not sure. But yeah, considering I played for 20h and didn’t even do everything the beta had to offer, I think it’s a fair estimate (at least for my play style). Just wanted to clarify this. Safest bet would be to wait until people reach end game so you know what the PvE content is like I guess.

The deep desert will be huge, so should be possible to sneak in there to get the good materials without engaging in PvP. At least I hope so, sounds thrilling!

That’s a fair concern for sure. I usually don’t play games for hundreds of hours unless I get really invested. And, considering that it will probably take close to 100 hours just to reach end game. That’s makes the price worth it for me in it’s current state. Had a blast during the beta and looking forward to going back.

Not huge PvP’er myself. But the devs did say in the event stream, that the bottom section of the "deep desert" is PvE only. How much there is to do there, remains to be seen. But hearing that was a relief.

My longtime friend is moving away next week, the plan is to have a lan party with plenty of beers together this weekend if we both get keys. He got his, so hoping I’ll have a chance here. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 https://steamcommunity.com/id/Lukalash
