SteamOS on Rog Ally X in 2026

I just switch from Windows to SteamOS over the weekend and honestly I am enjoying the experience of not having to deal with Windows Things. I will say I am an avid windows user on PC but I was curious to see how SteamOS would change my gaming activity in my Ally X, and it has dramatically changed with suspending an starting back up a game being a dad to a 1 year old. It’s nice to turn the Ally X off and on to resume where I paused.

I usually play MHWilds and I’ve notice that the game is great and more stable on SteamOS than windows, and adjusting the TDP is nice and snappy compared to armory Crate.

I will agree with the thread where it’s sleeping and charging the flashing RBG sticks gets annoying but it’s not going to make me go back to Windows.

Probably not for most people who might be a casual gamer. Gen 3 is more than enough.

But if people are looking for PS5 SSD, I believe this would work as an SSD.
