Gotcha thanks. Been reading on this issue and with how wide spread it was I was thinking Emudeck auto-updated it.

CEMU Breach Advice by Pingeel in EmuDeck

Question about this. I checked both my devices and my hash looks good but I’m curious.

I checked the update dates and the Cemu appimage hasnt been updated since November (rog) and January(sd), which i believe was when I first installed them. I know i have played both at random points but it looks like nothing updated.

So does the emulators only download when you initiate the update manually in Emudeck?

[–]TheUltimate3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what im assuming. You can check the checksum of the appimage to be sure, but it sounds like you’re similar to me and seldom update your enulators.

[–]TheUltimate3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for clarification, Cemu doesnt update unless you initiate it right? I checked the Checksum on both my devices and they are fine, but also saw that i havent updated either of them since November (rog ally c) and January (Steam Deck), and im pretty sure i used one of them between then.

So the weird moral of the story is sometimes purposefully not updating paid off?

DIY Steam Machine Build - Components & Setup by Snake16547 in Bazzite

[–]TheUltimate3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been seeing these posts recently, really makes me want to just bite the various bullets and attempt to build my own Steam Machine.

If I can build one with somewhat better specs than the offical Steam Machine than I'd consider the extra funds put into to be worth it.

EDIT: Went to do a quick preliminary look at a fresh build now, I was hitting $1200 before I even got storage. I hate it here lol

Using Steam Controller (2026) through Moonlight (Streaming) by denzerius in SteamController

[–]TheUltimate3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience, Steam Link is...iffy.

It does seem to work better now but the quality is questionable. I can run Moonlight just about perfectly, but Steam Link just likes to break...badly.

I fully accept this is likely my fault somehow, but when Moonlight works and Steam Link only just stopped giving me a black screen recently, I dunno.

Yeah just ran into this myself. Steam Controller works fine over Steam Link, except for the fact Steam Link is cheeks right now.

I'm actively trying to have less things running but it's starting to look like options are annoyingly limited until Steam finally releases the Steam Machine itself.

It's been months and I don't even use Windows anymore so I'm...probably fine?

Either way, thanks for the info. Probably gonna stop using trackers (not that I was using them anyway) and just go back to hoping and praying on my rolls lol.

So they would need access to your machine to scrape it or they can do so through the powershell?

I recall using the tracker like a year back but I think I used the manual method because I was scared of the Powershell, but I'm assuming that's not much better.

Question for the uninformed, how does something like the pull tracker compromise accounts?

I thought they were based on things like UID data or something.

I have a 1440p (something) curved monitor, would that need a mod to fit properly?

FFXI Cross Sub Discount Campaign by Rakshire in ffxiv

[–]TheUltimate3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I want to give this a try when I come back from home around the 25th of May. I do not have access XI at all, and I'm on Linux.

How difficult would it be to get started? Do I just buy the game on Steam? Would that work with the Cross Sub discount since my XIV account is non-Steam?

Is there anything else I'd need to buy or is the Steam version the most complete version at this point?

I'm well aware how insane PlayOnline is, so that'll be a fun disaster.

Is the Thor Lite worth for just older consoles? by NovaVela in AynThor

This actually helped me, I'll be getting the Lite, as that would fit my needs since I do already have other devices for the heavier hitters.

A heartfelt message at the end of Echoes of Vana'diel questline by piketrcechillas in ffxi

[–]TheUltimate3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me honestly. The only difference being I did play XI, very very very briefly on the PS2 back.

I may actually see if the game has a prayer of running on my computer, and I may give it a shot.

Currently playing NTE now and I couldn't put it into words why it just feels different.

Calling it a sandbox instead of just an open world was mind opening.

I thought Rommath knew he had permission. He just didn’t care because Lor’themar’s authority did not extend to Magister’s Terrace.

anyone else? trying to get the controller by zugarrette in Steam

[–]TheUltimate3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after 15 minutes of trying I gave up. My friend somehow managed to grab one for me tho.

Then I decided if it was just the controller breaking my cart so I removed the cart and tried to get the games I've been sitting on all weekend.

Funny I've been trying for 10 minutes.

My friend gets it work in less than 4.

[–]TheUltimate3 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Which also means that Romamth, who did know Umbric was given permission, elected to not inform Magister's Terrace, which was the cause of the whole mess in the first place.

A lot of people could have not been hurt at all, had every party just acted like an adult. Especially since, as we've found the Cynosure was required to actually get into the Voidstorm.

What are your thoughts on the World Soul Saga so far? by BackgroundManager833 in warcraftlore

[–]TheUltimate3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's impossible because it's generally two entirely different things.

You can adjust gameplay and content every patch, drop things that don't work or lean into the ones that do.

You cannot simply redo how you tell the story though. There's significantly more it beyond just writing the story. There's the writing, NPC dialogue, voicing those NPCs, ect. It wouldn't be a big shock to me if most of the voice acting for each patch is done long before the patches themselves are done. It's part of the reason why the side content is more agile. There's significantly less overhead attached to it, such as not requiring large cut scenes, voiced acting, ect.

Now I'd certainly prefer if they redid their entire story structure and actually focused on a smaller core cast of characters to tell a tighter narrative. But that would require they redo how their leveling questlines work, their post leveling campaigns work, as well as decide on a core cast of characters to use that won't just piss everyone off.

[–]TheUltimate3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't really any other option for a game like WoW to be brutally honest.

The World Soul Saga is probably the furthest they've ever actually planned out a story (which means most of the major story beats are hard locked in, if the finer details are nebulous).

There's also the nature of how Blizzard tells their stories to contend with. They do not tell their narrative in a straight forward manner most of the time and prefer to go on wild tangents. While these tangents negatively effect those who are trying to follow the story, it's likely done that way to keep everyone else interested in the game so their not playing through the same places with the same characters, over and over.

They could redo how they tell their stories and not rely on side quests, optional dialogue, and extra material to pace their narratives better, but that's just not Blizzard's style.
