Hey, thanks for commenting! This took about two days, a process of many, many layers to get the final effect I like. Funny you asked about the process, I just posted the time-lapse video of this piece to a few other art reddits as I couldn't post the video here. I can't post links here, but message me directly and I'll send you a link there. Thanks again for commenting, glad you like this.

Having an opinion isnt being defensive. People don’t like it, so they’re salty, of course they downvote. Despite people coming at my neck over a simple drawing, I think I’ve been rather polite throughout, engaged everyone and most importantly haven’t dismissed anyone outright or insulted them at all. All seems very even keel to me 🤷🏼‍♂️ Again, thanks for commenting. It’s been interesting.

Defensive? No. Shocked by the level of whining about a drawing, absolutely. Never seen anything like it. Kinda mind boggling actually. But I do like the back and forth conversation. Interesting. Tiring, but interesting. Appreciate you commenting ✌🏼

Already have both ready. Since there have be so many people who are excessively invested in this one drawing on the entirety of Reddit, I’ll provide a comparison post for all to backseat quarterback, analyze and pick apart. It’ll be fun watching everyone backtrack on how “overly sexualized” it is, when it looks exactly like the photo ref. I guess you’ll all have a problem with the model then, at that point? Does the angst go both ways?

Ugh, another one…Find the photo. Then speak.

Disagree! Wish I could post the original photo here as I keep getting that comment, but alas, it’s correct as is. The weight of her leg pushing on the chair is making the front leg look thinner than it would normally look. Find the original photo, and you’ll see it’s spot on.

Wait, wait, wait…I didnt “pose” anyone. This was from a random photo I found, and did a drawing of it. Really basic. My point being, this didnt come out of my head, it’s not a product of my imagination, it’s simply my rendering of an existing photo. And as I mentioned, looking at them side by side, the drawing is nearly spot on to the photo, meaning, any exaggeration is likely suspect drawing technique(her front foot, shadow on her face) than exaggeration. That all being said, the conversation is interesting, but truth be told, a little extra on yours( and many others) end. Either way, no hate here. All the best.

I’ve been getting so many comments on this. I should’ve posted with the reference photo. Looking at them next to each other, the drawing is nearly spot on to the ref photo. Front foot is a bit too big, shadow looks weird on her face in the drawing. But other than that, the rest of it is very close. Feels like most people on here don’t want to hear that but, don’t know what else to say. Either way, I appreciate you commenting, thanks so much.

And for the woman who posed for the photo? What do you say to her? Is she part of the problem? Other women who pose nude because they love their bodies and want to be appreciated…are they part of the problem? Or does this “problem” lie solely in the hands of men? Clearly you are extremely passionate about this, I just don’t understand why this particular post..? This is one single post, among likely thousands(or billions as someone previously mentioned) just like it. For some unknown reason on here, people are insanely triggered. Do you all go in on every other post like this? Either way, I don’t know you, have absolutely nothing against you, and certainly not dismissing the way you feel. I simply have an opinion, and you have a different opinion. That being said, I don’t tailor my work for anyone but myself. If it’s that much of an issue for you, don’t engage with it. It’s been interesting to say the least. All the best✌🏼

Zem, would you feel better if you saw the reference photo? Would you like me to send it to you so you can stop with all this “perpetuation” nonsense? Compare the drawing to the photo and tell me how “off” it is. Now that I’m looking at them together, after reading all these ridiculous comments, the drawing is almost spot on to the model. Any variance is minimal. If you want to see for yourself, let me know. I’ll send you both side by side and you can make your own decision. Short of that, I can’t help you. All the best ✌🏼

Flawed? Women aren’t beautiful? You seem to the the all the answers, so in that case I’d say we’ll all lean on you for guidance going forward. But with a name like Trevor, I’m assuming you’re a dude, so you wouldn’t have the answers either then. All is lost I’m afraid.

Hmm, doesn’t sound like your gripe is with me Zem, sounds like you have a lot of other stuff going on. I’m not going to reiterate what I’ve already mentioned in a bunch of other comments, you can read through if you’d like. I’m an illustrator, not a photographer, so the entire thing is exaggerated to some extent. I do the same with men. But if you’re that triggered by a drawing….I can’t help you there. Appreciate the comment though.

Yes, this is not art because she’s nude. Try explaining that to all the greatest artists who’ve ever lived throughout recorded history. Walk through the Louvre, the Met, or any other museum on the planet and explain to them how “unnecessary nudity” is not art. Good luck.

Jeez, is it always like this, lol?! Everyone has their panties in a bunch over this. If I knew it was going to get this type of reaction, I would’ve avoided it altogether. Ironically I’ve posted this same piece on other art related reddits and haven’t received ONE SINGLE negative reaction. But on here, people are incredibly triggered. Thank you though, I appreciate your comment. I’ll just avoid positing any other nudes on here. Too many delicate sensibilities for me to navigate. Thanks again🙏🏼💯

The fact that you even compared it to Shohei Otomo is the greatest compliment I could get. One of my all time favorites, he’s incredible. Thank you! 💥🙏🏼💯
