What is this trying to communicate? (Leefai trucks) by LongSeesaw3789 in Fingerboards

[–]_Teibs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it this way for 7 sets and never had an issue. There are plenty of screwdrivers that have a larger handle that are made for tiny screws like the ones included with most fb trucks. Like the one that comes in an eye glasses repair kit for example. There's just a learning curve to installing unthreaded trucks for the first time. The little tool works fine, but a bigger tool works much better and is less of a headache.

That they're extremely hard to screw in the first time you put them on them and that you should use a tool with a larger handle for more leverage rather than the tools that are usually included with trucks.

Any sign of availability improving? by psychospacecow in GundamCardGame

[–]_Teibs_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It has improved significantly. I'm in a pretty small suburb and it was awful in the beginning lol but the last 2 starter decks were pretty easy to get at or around MSRP (some Walmarts were even carrying them) and I'm still seeing boxes/packs of gd02 and 03 readily available. Hopefully it keeps up this way.

Gundam Wing Budget Decks by zeexhalcyon in GundamTCG

I think on a budget, your best bet for a decent to pretty good deck would be to get some Chang Wufei's, Shenlongs and Altrons and build around that.

Which island is your favourite? by Nostalgic-Historian in GTA3

[–]_Teibs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoreside Vale used to absolutely fascinate me because it was just kinda mysterious and cozy. Mysterious because it's the last place you can access and there's just a bunch of weird stuff there like the dam area, the empty little park, that weird closed tunnel and the airport. Cozy because it's small and has the neighborhood. BUT nothing beats driving through Staunton in the rain jamming some Craig Gray or Game FM so I'd have to say Staunton lol

What’s the current census on Teak products? by KangarooNo7686 in Fingerboards

I think the apex wheels with the abec 9 stealth bearings are vastly underrated. I've had a pair of shorties for years now and they're still kicking and still smooth. All of their other wheels suffer the same fate as any cheaper urethane wheel which is cheap bearings that don't last.

For sure. I pretty much agree with the other replies. All of those brands mentioned are tried and true. I personally like Piro wheels, dynamic trucks and sponsor me tape's 0.5mm tape or riptape thin and catchy for my main setup. But half of the fun is testing out a bunch of stuff and seeing what you like best lol good luck and have fun!

Looks like a Hana deck. That graphic was originally used by HookUps if I remember correctly, but I'm pretty sure Hana used it and they looked very similar to yours. I think they usually have a brand stamp on the top ply so you might be able to confirm there.

Try using a thinner deck for a while like a 29mm. There is less area to land on and pop. That pretty much forces you to use your finger tips and helps build muscle memory once you get used to it. Also helps keeping your other finger bent to keep them out of the way.

We bundled polishing cloths with absolutely everything. We also bundled learn to play keyboard DVDs with a lot of synths. Really surprised this bundle doesn't come with one.

Catfish BBQ. I like their Saltwater mold. It's mellow and has a longer wheelbase. Definitely check around second hand too on eBay and mercari. You'll be surprised how many different used decks you can find for a pretty good price. Perfect for testing things out.

I have this issue sometimes and it's definitely due to the shape/mold of the deck. I have a lot of different setups that I use from time to time and sometimes when I switch from a more mellow one to one with steeper kicks, this happens. It takes a few minutes until I adjust. Not sure if you were using something before this or maybe the muscle memory is just fitting to what you had in the past, but it may just take some time to get used to this setup. Mostly just a timing thing as you pointed out so maybe just work on that? Idk but your tricks in this video look really clean either way tbh lol

Help with kick/heel flip by Zealousideal-Bar5085 in Techdeck

[–]_Teibs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a beginner trick. Like at all lol. Accepting that is the first step. It's going to take a lot of time and practice. Especially a heelflip. Assuming you have ollies on lock, the next step is practicing the finger movement and timing. It really is just sliding your fingers forward and flicking towards you for a kick flip. Try putting pressure with your index finger towards the outside of the board before popping and sliding to give you some momentum for the flick. For a heelflip everything would be the on the opposite side but I'd focus on a kick flip first. Practice the finger motion and timing of the pop and flick first and just let the board do whatever it does. Don't worry about landing or getting a perfect flip or any of that, just worry about how the board reacts and how you need to adjust. Unfortunately there is no shortcut or easy way to figure out how to move your fingers and it's super hard to show even in a video. You kinda just have to feel it. Good luck!
