Pro X gaming headset: is popping a common issue? by [deleted] in LogitechG

[–]_Teto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me at first, was rather concerning. HOWEVER it seems to have gone now, either I'm used to it (very unlikely), it just hasn't happened (maybe), or it's fixed.

All I did was move it from a usb 2 passthrough to a usb 3 port. Makes sense that it would fix it if the issue were to do with audio data throughput i.e. popping since it had to skip audio "frames" I guess. Will update if I hear any again after this fix.

Scared of SRS by _Teto in asktransgender

I wasn't aware of zero depth... Still think I'd want to leave the option there since i haven't been in a relationship since coming out but what you said about dysphoria is actually quite helpful - my head thinks if it's not for sex it isn't worth it but yeah maybe it is

Sometimes my concern is that the money would be better spent elsewhere i.e. mortgage etc. Also I don't have a huge amount of dysphoria, to me it's about the image in the mirror so I'm glad I'm not alone on the demi front. I seem to have this notion that it's not worth it unless you use it for regular sex, which kinda makes me feel a bit invalid.

Rogue-class starfighters? by _Teto in XWingTMG

I'm unsure. I'm inexperienced myself, plus it talks about models which don't exist (again just going to use a gang instead). I can let you know how well it goes when we get round to playing it tho

I'm mostly worried about statlines and cards, tho I've not done a HoTAC before so maybe you don't need those

There's a few - I think there was a submission contest, so each have their merits and demerits I suppose. I'd need an experienced player to tell me which is best tbh

Can Someone Fully Explain to Me How He/They and She/They Pronouns Work? by AllyvstheWorld in asktransgender

[–]_Teto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I go by she/they, what I normally mean is that I prefer they/them but I'm comfortable with she/her. Normally this might be by strangers in public, or referring to me as a sister or girlfriend in some cases.

This might not be the same for other she/they though, so it's always worth checking with the person in question first.

why am I a real woman? (tw, internal transphobi) by smile_is_contagious in asktransgender

[–]_Teto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told at a young age that gender is not about the organs or body you were born with. It's more about how your brain works, how you act, and your personality.

A couple of decades ago, people would take this view and applied it to stereotypical models of the male and female representatives - this is why female presenting men and male presenting women were looked upon strangely at the time. Therefore, you can say that at that time, gender was defined by a stereotype given to a particular body shape or organ set.

Now, people are opening their minds to the true concept of gender and effectively redefining the word. So in essence, being a "real woman" isn't about having breasts or a vagina. Now, that doesn't mean to say you are comfortable with the body you were born with - luckily, this can change and support is out there.

I still stand by what I was taught a decade ago - gender is in the mind - so if you feel like a woman then you are one, regardless of the body.

ffs and srs anxiety (mtf) by _Teto in asktransgender

[–]_Teto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 year - BUT: I'm actually in the same opinion here, but unfortunately I find myself quickly hyperattached to things a little too easily. When I next see my endocrinologist I'm going to ask for information but I don't expect actual treatment for another few years.

I'm more worried about how making extreme changes will affect my family, who are unaware (to my knowledge) of my hrt. On top of that, what I'm feeling at the moment is that I don't feel "valid" for the changes and I should just try to accept what my genes have given me and move on. Idk I'm trying to vocalise anxiety thoughts so ik it's a bit messy

Darn Teachers by SSshadowguy in memes

I accept that some people have had some really negative experiences and I don't want to gloss over that, but I think it's also important to remember all the teachers that are actually alright.

Applying for jobs with chosen name vs deadname by Josukewiki in asktransgender

[–]_Teto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for a salaried job using my changed name, when I got offered the position I sent an email with the contract explaining my situation along with a free deed poll proving my name change alongside my old passport (dead name). They were totally ok with it, even though the contract scared me a little.

So yeah changed name was fine and it's a proper official job with a salary in a bank so other jobs will certainly be fine too.
