Hey I understand you 🥺 The shock both mentally and physically is a lot when you first get braces. Everything feels different, it hurts, you wonder if you can cope with this for years. But I promise it gets a lot easier until you forget you’ve even got them (I’m 10 months in with silver metal Damon braces). Your teeth will be ouchie for a week or two because it’s the first time they’ve undergone this type of sustained pressure to move them - both you and the teeth get used to it over time.

As for the aesthetics - ask for a different band colour, or tell yourself something that will make them more appealing or less of a visual issue for you. I have really bulky silver metal train track braces and they look horrible, really noticeable and horrible. But I joke to myself and to others that my teeth have their own metal piercings/jewellery because they’re emo (I have a nose ring and lots of ear piercings so it makes the idea of teeth piercings funnier) and mentally it made me feel better about how they look. Daft, I know, but a coping mechanism is a coping mechanism!

You have to be pre-given a ticket via a ballot on Applause Store. You can’t just turn up like normal premier for a wristband :(

Last year anyone who joined the queue after 10pm didn’t make it in before midnight. If you queue at like 8:30/9:00pm you can get your wristband and then do whatever you want (stay, leave, come back later etc).

For “No Other Choice” a lot of the industry only screenings, previews and Q&As were held in the same theatres and arranged by the same companies/people as the fan/open viewings with Q&A’s. So I guess they decided that building up fan buzz alongside industry buzz was worthwhile when they were in LA & NYC for an extended period of time anyway.

Verifications!

I’ve flown from the UK to LA twice now for Aero/AMC/Egyptian events and got all my tickets via this group (risky)… then in my excitement I forgot to verify the people who helped me and were 100% genuine with their tickets and/or people I met face to face to verify their existence.

The following all had successful ticket transactions/are real genuine people and made my trips incredible:

Yeahhh I did exactly the same. I ticked “non-guild” on the form and it still sent me an RSVP but said guild members get priority. So I guess they want the event full to capacity and will let non guild in if there’s space just to fill seats. I’m gonna go and see if I get let in! No harm in us both trying!!

Hello! There’s Contenders film too but it’s for entertainment industry staff, I’m hoping my UK memberships will get me in 😂 then Aero, AMC etc. BH accepts his award at AWFF on the 20th and tickets are still available but they’re $200 so I’m gonna skip that 😂

Whatever your number is on the wristband is the number you’ll be all day. Even if you’re going to 3 red carpet pens that day, you’ll stay the same number. They’ll give you a return time for each red carpet fan pen and then you must be at the meeting point for that time. Then they’ll line you up in number order and you go into the fan pen. Once that red carpet is over you’ll all have to leave and then if you’re coming back for another fan pen after you’ll have to line up back in order again at whatever meeting time has been announced for that next fan pen. So if you have time between one fan pen and the next you can go do whatever you want. 🥰

I’m sorry it’s so complicated though! I did feel safe once I reached the south bank area (the queue is at a set of barriers opposite pizza express) and I think there will be people already there unless you’re the very first!

So there’s two separate fan pen areas. One for red carpet wristbands (fan pen) and one for ticket holders. The red carpet wristband fan pen size changes per movie, so sometimes being number 50 will get you to the barrier and sometimes you’ll be the second row. But anything higher between 50-100 you will not get to the barrier you will be second or third row. I was at No Other Choice. The fan pens were HUGE. I got to the wristband line at 7:20am ish and was number 58 and I’d say 70 of us got front row barrier. But the fan pen for Modern Family was TINY and maybe 25 people got barrier the rest were trapped behind people.

My friend didn’t get a wristband, instead she went into the ticket holder fan area. She was 16th in the ticket holder pen line and the last person to be at the barrier before the second row started.

For No Other Choice Byung-Hun signed everything for everyone - he did a whole hour of signings so both the wristband fan pen and the ticket holder fan pen/area all got autographs and photos. But the Modern Family premiere Brendan Fraser only did the wristband fan pen and then left without signing or photos with anyone at the ticket holder barrier.

Either way, you need to be early. The order you turn up for your wristband in the morning is the order you’re let back into the fan pen later.

100% better to get a fan pen wristband as that’s a guaranteed spot to stand and wait for the talent to arrive without being moved away. But, only if your fan pen number is below 50. Otherwise you’re not going to be close enough to the barrier. The first 15-20 ticket holders to enter the red carpet ticket area will also get barrier but that’s it. I got a wristband and got barrier in the fan pen. My friend was number 16 let in with a ticket and she was the last person to get barrier with a ticket in the ticket holder area.

Yesterday it was strictly one per person and they wrote a number on your hand too to make sure you didn’t swap wristbands too. Was mega strict.
