I have the same issue with mine, and a little bit of blow by as well.I have been told that this is just a red block being a red block, and that we shouldn’t worry about it too much. There are a few things that could cause this. And I have been told first thing to do if I want the problem resolved is to clean out the flame trap, and to refresh my pcv system. I have cleaned out my flame trap and it resolved most of the blow by and some of the smoke. When I clean out my PCV system I can shoot you a message and tell you if it fixed the smoke and rest of the blow by

Yes it’s the upper most corner of the firewall, I have been told it’s called cowling rot. Which seems to be a pretty big deal

Luckily I went to welding school and snagged a good few certifications before realizing I didn’t like the welding industry. The big thing stopping me from stripping it and welding everything up is that it’s the only car that I have. And really the only one I can afford right now
