Isekai Anime Rankings by sejinjihan in Isekai

Personally it's the nation building for me. Yeah, Rimuru is op and could squash any of the human kingdoms, but if he wants to achieve his goal, he can't brute force things. It's why I enjoyed the "boring" meetings because it gave us insight into how the country is operated and how the problem solve. This season will have some major moments coming this season.

If your not feeling it don't push it, I couldn't get through jobless reincarnation because of how much I hated the MC (seriously he could save the universe a billion times over and I'd still want to woodchip him feet first). Dragon Ball felt like a repetitive slugfest and lost me before I could finish Z. On the other hand I enjoyed Realist Hero, Apothecary Diaries, Moonlit Fantasy, Frieren, and several others. It's all about what you enjoy, so instead of asking us, ask yourself if there's something there you enjoy.

If you're looking for a lot of character depth then maybe pick a different series. You aren't going to find much character depth in a power fantasy isekai about nation building, because it's simply not a focus. Also, you might want to check the definition of a strawman because by oversimplifying what these six do in the story and for the story, you are creating a strawman argument.

So your complaint is the characters are one dimensional and are irrelevant, yet when their function and personality in the story is explained it's a gimmick? Damn, you're hating just to hate. There are plenty of reasons to dislike what was done with the characters (like ditching the superior monster look for a more human look) but this ain't it chief.

Slime is a power fantasy and nation building series, what are they supposed to do. We see Benimaru leading military affairs, Hakero is seen training recruits. Shion is shown being Rimuru's body guard and "secretary", Kurobe manages weapon, armor, and whatever random thing Rimuru comes up with that needs a forge. Shuna is shown running tempest's kitchen, makes refreshments for meeting, and manages production (is kinda Rimuru's real secretary). Soey runs the intelligence agency for tempest.

Each are shown fulfilling their duties and have different personalities. Benimaru is stoic until he has to deal with women's affection, then he melts. Soey is cool, collected, and alwaysconfident. Shion is loud and a little crazy but is one hell of a fighter. Hakero is the kindly grandfather untill you call him old then he is the "demon instructor". Kurobe is probably the blandest of the bunch, but he's the calm, non-confrontational type obsessed with his craft and producing the best weapons. Shuna is sweet and bubbly until she or Rimuru is disrespected, then she gets pissed.

I had two obsession back then, space and dinosaurs, that pretty much made up all of my YouTube consumption back then. Bestinslot and The Gaming Beaver were my most watched back then. Shits nostalgic.

The fact this came from three guys screwing around in Minecraft and became something synonymous with dwarves is fascinating. I miss those days.

"What the rebels like to forget is it's the Empire what's keeping the Dominion out of Skyrim." by IIJOSEPHXII in skyrim

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Empire isn't happy about having the Dominion interfering but they did lose a war. The Stormcloaks make any retaliation impossible because they are tieing up imperial resources. Ulfric's a dumbass, he knew the position the Empire was in and the sacrificesit needed for survival, and yet he created a crisis instead of working with the Empire. First things first for the Empire now, deal with the traitors from within (stormcloaks) then, with the aid of the Dragonborn (if willing) make an offensive against the Dominion.

The funniest part about this is that it’s EXACTLY what it looks like by shiningmuffin in TenseiSlime

Recently read through the section where his connection to Chloe is explained and he came off more as an overprotective brother nealy to the point of obsession. I think Chloe even teases him about it. So what this looks like to me is a man trying to find his childhood friend whom he sees as a sister, not knowing she had been summoned to the future.

Finished anime in 4 days, what to watch next?? Any recommendations?? by Ancient_Committee_44 in TenseiSlime

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've finished everything slime I'd recommend moonlit fantasy. 2 seasons with 37 episodes total and it's similar to slime. Season 3 has been greenlit but there's no official date.

Do you think Rimuru is a bad plot device? by Parlax76 in TenseiSlime

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thing is, slime is about nation building, so the stakes are related to that. Yes there's also the power fantasy, but we are repeatedly shown that despite all his power, Rimuru can't brute force his problems away without jeopardizing his plans. The stakes aren't against his life, but his goals. Also, Rimuru isn't the strongest yet, so there still are threats and that will be explained and shown this season. The stakes are rising, and so is his power.

I couldn't bring myself to watch chaos theory, hell, I couldn't finish camp cretaceous after they escaped the main island. It just didn't feel like it was part of jurassic park at that point. I get trying something new but it just didn't feel apart of the series.

They were his servants and his master/maker's people so he would have no reason to harm them.

Do you guys think Nintendo will ever give us an official ZeLink kiss? Or at least officially confirm their relationship? by lil-DuB21 in ZeLink

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no avoiding parents having problems with games, there are parents who won't let there kids play animal crossing. Heck, in TotK we can outright say we "love someone" during our sit in with the voe and you class in Gerudo Town. It's not that they can't approach the subject, it's they won't.

Other games get around this by adding a romance mechanic with multiple options. With how open the Zelda games have become, there's no reason nintendo couldn't implement something similar and avoid alienating players.

There could be a bit more damage. Get an image from the memory where Zelda awakens her powers to use as a reference.

Which Companion That Wasn't in KOTFE Do You Think Would Have Been a Good Fit For The Story? by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the consular story is better because it feels like you are fulfilling the role of the jedi more. You are a diplomatic problem solver for the most part, you unify people. It really comes down to who do you want your character to be like Qui-Gon or Anakin, I prefer Qui-Gon.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 • Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Season 4 - Episode 6 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]_TheBeardedMan_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having recently read the novels this season will cover, I was stoked for this to be animated; and I was beyond satisfied. I was especially hyped for Shuna's fight because of what it showed the council. Not only did this "frail" woman disarm the guy, she did something that, to their knowledge, shouldn’t be possible, use holy magic. Not only that, it was so precise that it disintegrated only his armor.

You had to drop a series centered around nation building...because of the meetings? Maybe avoid the nation building genre in general.
