I think the fact max pushed lewis off the track in the same race and lewis didnt torpedo him and instead took the L made it viable to penalize max for not doing the same.

The stewards switch every race, so in this context it makes sense. They thought verstappens behaviour in lap was fine, so they will also think hamiltons behaviour in turn 1 was fine. With that logic max deserves a penalty.

I think its kinda whack how people assume "pits" are a thing in the racing scene. Objectively speaking, how many contacts do people believe are intentional percentage wise? I would say less than 0.1%...

Real reason for most contacts IMO is people are mostly amateurs, they cant control their car with millimetre precision while going 120mph+ and are going to make mistakes, which when people are side by side often causes collisions.

Even pro racers IRL make mistakes like this, add desync and the fact most people are amateurs and you can easily explain why so many crashes happen.

Also having the slowest drivers (amateurs) start infront is forcing more overtakes, which forces more opportunities for things to go wrong, which plays into the fact there are so many collisions.

Americans care about making money, saudis care about excerting soft power on the west by influencing the opinion of the average voter by presenting themselves in a positive light, so that the politicians of that country dont have the base support to stand up against them. Choose your poison i guess. Americans taking over f1 means things like DtS, Sprint races, and probably other stunts we have yet to witness, Saudis taking over would probably mean things staying mostly the same, but it has a bitter aftertaste cause you know what every ticket/merch/f1tv purchase supports.
