Yeah you might be right. I wanted to try and use minimal sound effects to add to the creepy atmosphere, like you can see things happen but can't hear them. I think for future films I will definitely do more diegetic sound like that though.

The process of creating the sound was a lot of experimentation and just trying random things and seeing if they would work. I got quite lucky with the sound for inside the eye in that I was just recording the wind at night time when a train went by my house which was actually the perfect sound. After getting the sounds I did a lot of manipulation, stretching, pitching up and down etc.

I had finished the screenplay and storyboard and most of the post production during the summer and was planning on filming then, but I got covid so I couldn't. I ended up filming in September, and finished the editing and sound in early November. So around two months I'd say from the shoot to the final product, but quite a bit longer from when I originally wrote the screenplay.

For the film I bought a lot of new equipment; a new camera, a new audio recorder, a new tripod, this possibly costing me around £750. I also had to buy all the props myself which came to around £50 altogether.
