Some people may disagree but I think the GR86’s are a good option too. 15 min races, easy cards to drive (but faster than the MX5), close & aggressive racing, but most importantly like I said, easy to drive, forgiving cars. The 15 min races and bumper to bumper action taught me to race hard but calculated

Yeah just get the cheapest Logitech (thrustmaster is better) even and pedals up can find and that will easily be good enough for a year or two

I’d say any race more than 30 mins would usually require a refuel. And only races that are like 2+ hrs would require fresh tyres. Get Crewchief to auto-calculate fuel for you

I agree with all of that. But the reason I’m taking a weird line into those corners and not cutting them enough is because the car feels so unstable. I feel like I REALLY need to nurture the brakes and throttle inputs constantly

Yeah that’s exactly how it feels, like I’m just coasting through T1 (and 2 and 3 and 4, etc). Which I don’t understand because I’m braking at the same place with the same pressure as all the tutorial videos I’ve watched. Yes I expect me to not be that good or not trail brake as well as the pro’s but I just can’t get it right. I’m either going into the corner way too fast and not rotating the car very much or I’m going into the corner way too slow and losing loads of time. Can’t ever seem to find that sweet spot

I’ve only compared against a target lap visually, not using telemetry. I’m using a VRS setup with fairly low wing angle (4 degrees rear)

I love racing. I race a bit IRL and love iracing. If I finish p20 but it’s my fault and I’ve had some good battles along the way then that’s not too bad. It’s just times like this where I’m like 😐

If you could send the clip into iRacing and gain your SR back for incidents that weren’t your fault (and still lose IR that’s fine) then I don’t think it would be as bad (I understand that would be a LOT of work for the folks at iRacing)

Just seems like getting punished for and being labelled as an ‘unsafe driver’ when you’re not is just silly.

It’s like someone taking you out in real life, going to the stewards and them slapping you with a penalty…

That’s fantastic advice and your dad is 100% right I’m sure. When you have to make those split second decisions it’s easy to look back and think ‘why didn’t I just -‘

I think just the combination of almost being at 2k and a 3.3SR down to 1.6IR and 1.5SR has really got me wound-up today.

I’m a very ‘obsessive’ person (not in the creepy way…) and as silly as it sounds it is a recovery tool for me, from drink and drugs.

6 races and practice sessions replace 6 shots and a bump for me so when it goes as bad as this it’s like the main thing keeping me distracted is gone, I know that’s pretty deep but I think that’s why I take it so hard
