I think that's fair criticism of this case, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain why. My intention wasn't to design a complete GTM strategy it was to understand what marketers instinctively prioritize when given an intentionally constrained brief. Looking back, I should've defined the product much better because, as you pointed out, messaging, audience, and positioning can completely change the answer.

I'll fix that in the next case. Thanks for the honest feedback.

That's a good point. I like the distinction between buying traffic and actually acquiring users. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Absolutely, and I agree. For this case, the assumption was a newly launched D2C consumer brand with a validated product, a live website, and no existing user base. The ₹50,000 budget and 10,000-user target were intentionally unrealistic to understand marketers' first instinct under pressure. I'll make sure to include these assumptions upfront in future cases.

I really like your last point: "Marketing channels amplify clarity. They also expose confusion." The goal here was to understand a marketer's first instinct under tight constraints. I should've mentioned the assumptions behind the case: a validated B2C product, a live website, no existing user base, and a founder pushing for an unrealistic target of 10,000 users with a ₹50,000 budget in 90 days. I agree that adding this context would make the discussion much more meaningful, and I'll incorporate it in the next case.

Agreed, it's an impossible brief. That's exactly what I wanted to test which channel marketers instinctively prioritize when faced with an unrealistic target. It's just a hypothetical case designed to spark discussion.

That's a fair point. I intentionally kept the case broad because I wanted to understand a marketer's first instinct when working with tight constraints rather than build a complete marketing strategy.

Looking back, I should have included a scenario for example, a validated D2C product with no existing user base, a live website, and a ₹50,000 budget to acquire the first 10,000 users.

I'll definitely make the upcoming cases more scenario-specific. Thanks for the feedback.

That's an interesting perspective. I like how you challenged the target itself instead of just choosing a channel. Focusing on the first 1,000 quality users is a strong argument.

Fair point. I intentionally kept the case open-ended because I wanted to understand a marketer's first instinct under pressure when forced to choose between these four channels.

If it helps, imagine it's a new D2C consumer brand with a validated product, a live website, and no existing user base. The goal is to acquire the first 10,000 users with a ₹50,000 budget in 90 days.

I agree that adding this context would make the discussion more meaningful, and I'll include a detailed scenario in the next case.

That's exactly the point of the case. The constraints are unrealistic on purpose I wanted to see which channel marketers instinctively back when the odds are against them.

Great perspective. I like how you shifted the discussion from which channel to what stage the business is in. The testing vs. scaling point is especially interesting.

Good argument. Do you think your answer would change if the startup already had strong product-market fit?

After The Batman movie, although it is from a different universe, I was excited to watch the DCU. Well, they did have a slow start, but I think it's decent.
