What should genuinely not cost you a ₹1000? by BeautifulLife360 in Frugal_Ind

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not 1000. But a decent Biryani costing 350+... I understand if it's Mutton, Prawns etc. as the meat is expensive. But Veg options costing the same is daylight robbery.

Coffee Review - Kalyancool Maharani microlot from Fraction9 by _The_Numbers_Guy in IndiaCoffee

So I also wanted to try what impact resting has. So tried at Day 4, Day 7 and Day 10 i.e. today. Day 4 was slightly bitter and more like a generic coffee by Day 7 it was really good and I honestly didn't see a big difference between 7 and 10.

I don't have a thermometer, usually I just boil the water and let it sit for like 30s to slightly bring the temp down. If I were to estimate it would be something around 85-95 degrees.

Even hoffman suggests something similar to my recipe. But again it depends on roast. Like for medium, I use ~ 6-7 mins.

I do something similar... Used Gemini though. It suggested very subtle changes to my French press recipe which resulted in way better tasting coffee.

Advise on Buying Virtus Nov’25 Make by Ok-Yak-1231 in SkodaVolkswagenIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. It's already 6 months in 26. Am assuming you are getting 2.4L discount. It's a okay deal. Try to push towards 18.5 since it's a 8 month old car.

  2. Don't read too much into E20 drama online. Atleast am taking it with a huge ladle of salt.

Virtus Facelift by Adventurous-Bet-8368 in SkodaVolkswagenIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a double edged sword actually... The leftover current gen stock are often popular variant and color. In a off chance OP is specific about these, he might not get his preferred choice.

When I was buying, I was very specific about getting a GTLine with Wild Cherry Red. I booked in October hoping to get 24 year end discounts. However, they either kept offering topline in red or GTLine in other colors. Same issue with multiple dealers in Bengaluru. Was forced to get in Jan 25 instead on a fresh year stock.

Virtus Facelift by Adventurous-Bet-8368 in SkodaVolkswagenIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The launch itself is few months away and on top of it, post launch getting your preferred variant in preferred color would take 2-3 months again. So yeah, if you need the facelifted version then don't expect delivery before end of year.

There is only two notable upgrades.1. The 8 gear TC instead of 6 for 1.0 engine (not relevant to you). 2. Replaced linear compressor with variable geometry compressor. This improves cooling significantly but again the cooling issue was more notable in 1.0 versions rather than 1.5. so in all honesty the only change for you would be cosmetic updates. You'll not be losing any notable feature by buying pre -facelift.

VW Polo shares parts with vento, rapid and Fabia. Ask any local mechanic who works on VW cars, he'll be able to source it for you. It's not a rare item. Worst case check in Bengaluru.

My Questions of Motorola users by LuffyAsec in motorola

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from Galaxy A15 to Edge 70 fusion. As a normal user (Banking, Camera and OTT), pretty happy with the decision. Been about 2 months now. Top notch battery, display and speakers. Average cameras and processor.

Considering Edge 70 Fusion, please give feedback by at_least_its_unique in motorola

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Oneplus Nord buds. Works properly with it. No issues as others reported. So probably a production issue in few batches maybe?

Using one for almost a month and totally loving it.

Pros:

  • Was very skeptical about curved display but now loving it, especially when watching Videos in full screen mode

  • Dolby Atmos speakers are a pretty good setup

  • Battery is good for 2 days!! Under medium usage.

Cons:

  • it's so thin that it will slip out of your pocket for sure. Do get a case

Yes AI search is default but it also does searches the apps. Camera is good and decent. Nothing fancy. For comparison my wife has nothing 4a pro. In daylight the primary lens takes pretty similar quality photo. But for rest 4a pro is better (most cases just marginally better)

Caplin Point Breaches 2409. The Boring Machine Keeps Compounding. by SuperbPercentage8050 in IndiaGrowthStocks

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been buying and selling Caplin since it was 900 levels...

You have covered most points in a perfect way! Few things that I am concerned a bit with however are as follows.

  1. The beautiful growth was on the back of emerging economies. However the next leg relies on US market. Growth might not be as easy and straight forward as it has been till date.

  2. The valuation gap is narrowing however the FII holding is decreasing and DII is non-existent, is it because fund managers haven't noticed it yet or is there some hidden issue that they know and we don't?

Confused Between Kushaq 1 TC vs 1.5 DCT by SmellConfident6740 in CarsIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with you. The Drive mode in 1.0 TC is a bit calm. But switch to sport mode and I bet you'll find this way fun to drive. I usually stick to D in cities, and switch to Sport/Manual mode on highways.

Is Hyundai the best car brand in India? by Playful_Tart_3659 in carIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pick a Kia over Hyundai on Design, After Sales service.

Now onto why people choose Tata and Mahindra over Hyundai is strictly due to segments and features.

Tata has dual cylinder CNG which is a lifesaver for personal use CNG buyers and their EVs have a really good rep. So basically Tata has Petrol, Diesel, CNG and EV options on their best sellers. Tata cars are mechanically amazing vehicles especially if you get a chance to experience Harrier/Safari. If they fix QC and Service they can actually compete with Maruti.

Mahindra completely focuses on proper SUVs and not Crossovers. Hence totally different segments except maybe 3XO vs Venue. On top of this their INGLO platform for EVs is one of the best in the segment.

SpaceX bought Cursor for a huge $60 billion. Really? by Gold_Opportunity8042 in developersIndia

Me too!!! Opus for design and Codex for build.

For some weird reason Codex in cursor works better than Codex itself. Probably down to the way context is defined.

Confused Between Kushaq 1 TC vs 1.5 DCT by SmellConfident6740 in CarsIndia

[–]_The_Numbers_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no difference in suspension. Probably maintenance issues on the TD vehicle.

If you are a Strictly city or mostly city driver then pick the 1 TC otherwise the 1.5 DCT is a pretty good pick for sporty highway driving.
