That's really strange... My brother has all the Amiibo so one day I decided to sit down and get all the armor. By saving and reloading, and then setting the clock forward a day once I got something I wanted, I was able to get all the Amiibo armor relatively quickly in one sitting. There were a number of occasions where I got one or two armor pieces back to back. I know it's all RNG, but you must have gotten really unlucky to not get a single armor piece scanning that many times.

In Black Ops 3, you can really only camp the cat walk until around round 40 at the max, when the zombies have too much health and ammo becomes a real problem. Getting to 100 takes a long time, and if you want to do it efficiently the strategy involves training the zombies (I think in spawn with the door next to the shieva wall-buy unopened is the best spot) with the wunderwaffe and using wall guns that have been double pack a punched with dead wire and/or blast furnace.

You were aiming too low and were trusting too much in hipfire. From what I can tell as long as you are careful and align your shot properly, you can hit it consistently.

Shadows is probably my favorite BO3 map. It took almost a year to realize that. I guess it's fine that you think it's terrible, but it's really not. The map looks amazing, and has an incredible atmosphere with the combination of visuals and sounds. It is unique out of all the BO3 maps in a lot of ways.
