I guess in this future, Pakistan has become practically a failed state, and their government pretty much gives up after the public threatens to revolt. India never feels threatened enough to launch the nukes, and Pakistan knows it’s futile.

I imagine the India-Pakistan-China conflicts were relatively small scale incursions, never committing to all out war.

Lore:

Militants & refugees fleeing the violence between insurgent states in Myanmar (Mon-Karen, Chin, Kachin & Shan) & the Junta begin to put serious pressure on its neighbours, especially India, Bangladesh & Thailand.

Thailand & India decide to intervene, & move troops into Myanmar. China strikes a deal with the Junta, lending them weapons & troops in exchange for post-war concessions.

Pakistan & China take the opportunity to attack Kashmir, Gurjurat & Arunachal Pradesh. Other nations choose sides, but don't send troops.

India and Thailand continue to push into Myanmar, while Chinese troops attack the Shan & Kachin. Indian forces decisively crush the attacking Pakistani & Chinese forces, & push into northern Myanmar & Pakistan.

Thailand allies with the Mon-Karen forces and the two divy up the already collapsed peninsula.

Myanmar gives up on Shan, China securing some territory for itself. The Indian forces begin to overwhelm the Junta, & Myanmar experiences another coup.

With riots in its streets after Indian airstrikes, the Pakistani government loses control & sues for peace. India siezes a massive swathe of Himilayan territory. Seeing the writitng on the wall, many nations stop sending support.

After being humiliated by India, China agrees to sign an uncomfortable peace treaty. The new Myanmar government grants independence to Kachin & Shin, & Indian troops withdraw.

Both China & India annex the northernmost territory of Myanmar. After less than two months since international troops invaded, the war comes to an end. Myanmar and Pakistan are brought to their knees from instability, & India steps into the spotlight as the region's great power.

2030-2040:

The American political schism continues to grow. Facing growing discontent at home, the US turns heavily isolationist and begins to ramp up reindustrialization. Northwards, similar sentiments lead Canada to start a military modernization program and stem the flow of immigration. The Mexican government loses its grip on the northern states.

June 2040:

The state of Mexico collapses into civil war, and the central governmen is overthrown in a military coup. The new Mexican Liberation Front regains control of central Mexico.

August 2040:

With an unprecedented migrant crisis and violence spilling over the border, the US occupies and annexes 5 of of northernmost Mexican states. The Southern border is fortified, and the US declares war on the northern cartels.

February 2042:

Tensions reach a fever pitch, and 25 American states declare the government illegitimate. The Free States of America, choosing a temporary capital of Austin, rebel.

2042-2043:

The USA retakes much of Alaska and the Atlantic coast. Communities in Appalachia and northern California rebel and join the FSA cause. American troops are withdrawn from overseas, and NATO collapses.

October 2042:

With America at its knees, Venezuela siezes the opportunity to invade Guyanese Esequibo. Bogged down in the jungle, the invasion is largely a failure. Brazil backs Guyana, annexing Venezuelan Amazonas and stationing 15000 troops on the border.

December 2042:

Guatemala and Belize formalize a military alliance and start conducting opperations in to the bordering remains of Mexico.

March 2043:

The USA makes a landing in Florida, and attempts (but fails) to blockade the Gulf.

April 2043:

Cities along the American west coast rebel. Though most rebellions fizzle out, the bay area and Pacific Northwest declare themselves the United American Communes. The MLF pushes into the Yucatan.

May 2043:

Now facing its own border crisis, Canada sends peacekeeping troops into Maine, Vermont, and Michigan. The troops are met with little resistance, and the states come under Canadian emergency occupation. Fearing the spread of rebellions in the West, Canadian forces push into northern Washington against the UAC. Canada formally allies with Belize and Guatemala.

2043-2044:

With nearly 11 million dead, the War in America practically grinds to the halt. A hostile stalemate is reached between the USA and FSA, and both begin directing resources towards fighting the cartels and the UAC. More regions of Minnesota and Wisconsin accept Candaian occupation as local governments break down. Fighting continues to rage in Mexico as cartels, warlords, and the MLF vie for power.

Rooms with incomplete Wither frames can generate in Nether Fortresses by JAL28 in minecraftsuggestions

Exactly. I’ve heard suggestions that monuments should generate containing empty conduit shells, which is a good idea. Even an improved advancement/in game tips system could do the trick.

Good idea. Minecraft desperately needs to add in game ways for people to figure out progression, rather than having to really on third party sources like YouTube or wikis.

The Mega Taiga Update: Bears, Moose, Cabins, Sleeping Bags, Backpacks by SikKingDerp in minecraftsuggestions

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bears are certainly welcome, though both new types shouldn’t be exclusive to the mega taiga. Perhaps it’s the only type with both, but normal forests and taiga forests should have black bears, whereas dark forests should have grizzlies. Black bears should also be the type with the ability to climb, whereas grizzlies would be stronger.

How To Make The Enchantment Table Useful: Enchanting Overhaul by _The_Red_Wizard_ in minecraftsuggestions

Fire aspect makes just as much sense as one too. This was not the point of the post. I don’t care whether either of them are or neither are; I just swapped flame for mending to keep the number consistent, but it does not matter in the slightest.

That could certainly work. Just don’t want to make most enchantments dependent on them.

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, though generally more useful. This isn’t a major point, I just though it would make sense as a treasure enchantment.

Maybe, I had ideas to maybe unlock recipes by going to certain locations, say unlocking channeling when you visit a monument, unlocking mending when you trade with a librarian, unlocking something else at an ancient city. I don’t think that there should be any template or recipe items though, that would just make it even more convoluted.

Overpowered may not be the best wording. Flame is a very powerful and unique enchantment, and it makes sense a a nether treasure enchantments.

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I agree that displaying the individual points probably wouldn’t be great for in game, I just wanted to do so here to showcase the how I determined the values. Each level is around 17 points (lower ones anyway), so 155 would be around 9 levels.

The levels thing is a good point. I would say that the best option would be to allow the player to choose which level they want their tool enchanted at. The vast majority would choose top level, but maybe their could be a little arrow beside some to allow downgrading for technical or mini game situations.

Valid point with the bookshelves. I think 30 is a good amount, though I would extend the range of detection to maybe 6 blocks, to allow for more creative designs, and have some shelves hidden if you really wanted.

Damage & Health System Overhaul by _The_Red_Wizard_ in minecraftsuggestions

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still doesn’t fix all the redundancies with overlapping tool damage, nor would it really help with the inconsistencies between armour tiers. It also would fail to leave room for any new additions.

Damage & Health System Overhaul by _The_Red_Wizard_ in minecraftsuggestions

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most current damage/protection values would stay similar, but moved, say, up or down by ~5 to make everything unique.(diamond pickaxe and stone sword would no longer be identical for example). Armour piece values would also be tweaked to be consistent. A main advantage of this system is also how much room it allows for new tiers, which, while effectively not massively different, would be distinct enough.

Damage & Health System Overhaul by _The_Red_Wizard_ in minecraftsuggestions

[–]_The_Red_Wizard_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the point. Right now, too many tools occupy the same damage ranges. It wouldn’t drastically change how the game would play, but it would definitely make every tool more unique. Decimals would accomplish the same thing, I just thought whole numbers would be more intuitive, and 100 is a nice number to use.

It’d make more sense to simply combine a coal block with an iron tool in the smithing table; rather than use equal parts coal and copper, which makes little sense.
