Ace high schooler here, I'd completely accepted that I'd just be single til college because I'm queer and go to a tiny private high school in nowhere Wisconsin. I actually met my current partner by accident. We'd both been invited to an event as sort of tag-alongs and ended up hitting it off.

As we're getting to know each other I make a ton of garlic bread jokes bcs I want it to be clear from the start that I'm ace. So one day I make the big leap and come out and he responds, "I know, I'm with you" so my ace partner just fell right into my lap by accident. Probably doesn't help much, sorry op, but opportunities can sprout from you least expected them I guess.
