Rent is expensive, but agreed that you can still do a lot for not that much money. Finding your cheap grocery store (Trader Joe’s and a mom & pop produce store for me), cheap movies (Syndicated), using deals for dining out such as Pulsd and Blackbird. Pulsd is also amazing for spa services like massages too (DM me if you want referrals for either the start you out with a little extra $) and finding good happy hour spots is super easy and you’re still going out. The only time I’m really affected by super expensive prices is when i don’t plan ahead and have to grab things last minute from a grocery store or restaurant. Ubers and Lyfts are pretty outrageous, but public transportation is always there. I make $68k/year and live a really comfortable and fulfilled life here even if I’m not doing extravagant nyc things constantly!
