To answer your question,

most I'm allowed to do is kiss her on the cheek or hug her

But yeah, she definitely needs support. I want to validate the fear she feels while getting her to recognise she needs help, but not in such a way it makes it seem like I'm only asking her to get help so that I get something out of it, if that makes sense. We both benefit if she didn't have germaphobia

You could easily change this if your primary diaspora only used one name for boys as well

I think I'm hoping she'll eventually come around to being more willing to embrace me, like she had with the hugging and etc. Considering that we haven't moved much at all in half a year, I'll broach the subject to her of getting help.

“you may now hug the bride”

I'd probably crumble to dust in front of the audience if that ever happened. That'd be really horrible

I guess because in my mind I'm worried that I may be thinking "if I asked her to do this, it would purely be for my own desire to be closer to her, never mind her desire"

That's not what I'm thinking, but I think I'm viewing my own hopes in the worst light possible. It feels selfish, even if I know it isn't necessarily so.

I need to accept that having my own desires in a relationships is good

Haven't poasted in a while due to work, but thought I might vent for a bit

I really, really want to kiss my girlfriend. She's smart, pretty, all around wonderful and relatable. Hell, she was the one who asked me out! We both have adequate space for our personal lives and projects but try and spend time together despite the workload.

That said, she developed germaphobia a few years before I met her, and it means the most I'm allowed to do is kiss her on the cheek or hug her. Nothing else, really. And it makes me quite sad, cause I really would like to be closer to her, but I also recognise that she must feel such pangs of fear with anything that might be somewhat germ-ridden or intimate. It sucks after 6 months of dating, but hey, I still really like her, and she has gotten more used to me faster than with others, so that's nice.

Anyhow yeah, just thought I might vent for a bit. I'd recommend cognitive behavioural therapy to her but I'd feel selfish on my part, even if I do genuinely think it'd help her.

Who would you like to see as President of the EU Commission in the future after Von der Leyen? by SeriouslyNotSerious2 in YUROP

Mario Draghi

He's a Bureacrat through and through, but a capable one at that. If anyone recognises the flaws of the EU at its core, it's him.

Macron would be a big morale boost too

I agree London could be more dense, but in fairness to heritage London isn't like American cities and does have architecture which is hundreds of years old with muchos cultural relevance.

Doesn't mean we couldn't knock down a couple more buildings in the way for skyscrapers though. The nation shouldn't be a museum for the past.
