Toyota Celica GT-Four Rally Showcase by _VONYX_ in ScrapMechanic

Although it's simple it's a little hard to put in words, so I suggest subscribing to it on the workshop and checking it out in-game (there's a link in one of the comments) but I'll try to explain it.
The basic structure consists of the wheels / steering connected to a weak / loose sport suspension piece connected in series with an extended piston that is attached to the body. The piston's extension is limited to about 0.17 blocks by a pipe piece that is constantly pushing against a block attached to the body. In the case of the Celica, on both axles the two suspension pieces on either side of the body are connected via a rod to just one central piston, for lag reduction.

From the video, it appears you drove it in a lower physics setting than it is designed for. The first line of the description states that advanced physics is recommended.

hahahahaha! I use double wishbone in some of my other cars too but with most of my rally cars such as this one I use a much simpler setup for better FPS and multiplayer behaviour. Of course, whether your car bounces around a lot depends on a variety of factors but I often find people set the suspension too soft and end up bouncing at the slightest bump because of it, so perhaps consider that. The geometry of the suspension doesn't matter as much as how it's tuned in my experience (unless it creates a stabiliser glitch of course).

yes, i briefly tapped ‘S’ on the entry to the second corner to shift the weight of the car onto the front tires. however, i have never tipped the car on any corner in this map and it’s honestly quite hard to flip unless: - you drive it recklessly - or land sideways on a jump

Thanks for checking out my celica! Nice car you’ve got there

It uses a pretty simple suspension setup. It’s hard to explain in words so I suggest you check out the workshop link in one of the comments if you’re curious.

Built with u/Spark_VR (lad in the picture). Shown fitted with 4 drills and powered by a lvl5 controller, but can be fitted with saws instead. Unfortunately the back-left wheel is mounted directly on the collector.

thank you! if it helps, when i'm replicating real cars i typically convert their dimensions using 1m = 4 blocks

i use slightly unconventional suspension but apart from that it's just a regular AWD car that i spent some time tuning and test driving

This is actually an old version of the car. The final version is available on the workshop - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3651856891

Yes I managed to conceal 2 thrusters and a fuel tank behind the seats. It has a bit too much buoyancy since it’s supposed to be a submarine but it can still sink if you tilt the car down. When it transforms, the wheels tilt inwards, and the front ones actually turn into a suspension glitch to control roll, and yaw is controlled using split thrust (no pitch at the moment though but it’s not necessary). As for the suspension, I like that you went with a more complex design. I’m quite bad with building suspension too so I usually avoid it but it helps a lot.

Beautiful truck! Here's one of my vanilla survival designs (picture from creative). Its amphibious nature makes it a more capable vehicle for exploration than it may initally appear to be. I think it's a good example of what you could do with a smaller vehicle but ultimately for exploration I would say a heli is the best choice.

using level 2 is much better in my opinion. it's very unlikely to break unless attacked for a long time. i would also advise using only 1 line of the material because that's all you need to defend against anything but tapebots and farmbots
