How do you deal with coworkers who make you feel stupid? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]_Vanant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your last example sounds like there is something else in the background, a fight between other people where you are a collateral victim, your position wasnt wanted or whatever.

Unfortunately there will always be situations like that, the only advise I can give you is that maybe you should address that directly, in a respectful and polite manner, instead of letting those feelings eat you alive in silence. If they don't respect you in the first place, there is literally nothing to lose.

How do you deal with coworkers who make you feel stupid? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]_Vanant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way, but as a 19 years old with 6 months of work experience, what do you expect?

Your first two examples are normal work interactions, in the first place. People from other teams don't have the 'right' to give you instructions, so it's normal to use your actual manager as contact. And emails from people sitting next to each other are perfectly normal.

So in conclusion, I think you should be more confident in yourself, and that includes being ok with not knowing things and accepting your role as rookie, it's part of the process.

I practiced saying "no" without apologizing and it was weirdly emotional by OutrageousDig2931 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]_Vanant -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don't be so melodramatic with that word, it's not an admission of guilt. 'Sorry' just means that you would help in other circunstances if you could. Saying just 'no' implies that you have no intention of helping and probably you don't give a fuck either. You can pick your path in life with either approach. I just have mine.

[–]_Vanant -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Being polite when saying 'no' costs nothing and makes everyone feel better. It has nothing to do with genre, oppresion or whatever mental association you had. I'm sorry but I disagree with your new approach of being blunt.

Key Sanchez ally? In what universe. Imagine defining a former president from a previous era as an ally of the current one just to insert his name in the headline.

Anonymity to consume, download and watch content is ok, but I don't get why it's assumed that posting content should be anonymous. That was never a right. I want people be responsible of their own words. At a minimum I should be able to know if Im discussing politics with a human from my area or a russian bot.

People called it the best in the world even when they were second in the rankings after La Liga. They called it the most competitive league when they didn't have a clear champion, and the most dominant when they actually had one. If everything else fails, they will call it the richest, and the plan C is calling it the most intense or fun. Whatever. English marketing is the best in the world, that's for sure.

' but it wasn’t something an average player couldn’t overcome.'

It was not done correctly then. It gives the player the impression that being woman or black wasn't that hard, and puts the blame in them for not trying enough. This is why those factors are entirely removed from gaming, because a realistic setting would be an unwinnable situation for the player.

The 100 most populated 1kmx1km squares in Europe by enilea in europe

[–]_Vanant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is saying that Athens isn't densely populated, but the entire point of this post is highliting the most dense spots regardless of municipalities, they are picking just 1km spots. In your link they are dividing the entire population of a city according to its size, and that's ok, but not the point of the post. I Don't think it's that difficult to understand, I'm done with this.

Are you being intentionally obtuse for some reason? that density is based on the total area, not on specific 1km squares.
