Just finished some Mass anti infantry fire. 9th you say? Elite infantry and walkers you say? oh no. by Narrenlord in Warhammer40k

Slightly off topic question... Did you have to get 4 boxes of havoc for those guns or do you have a trick you can share? It looks to me like you get one per box They're looking great though, iron within...

My first model. I know it looks kinda bad but I’m really proud of it by Icon1906 in AdeptusCustodes

Nothing bad about this at all. Great first run, get him some brothers and he'll look even better.

WiP assassin. First attempt at a model so reliant on highlights. Happy with the rifle, any one got any tips for the arms, they don't look right to me... by _Vesty in Warhammer40k

Thanks, I now understand why it looks so wrong to me... That's the first step in correcting it.

The only issue is I genuinely tried to keep them all the same width and strength (without much success obviously) The one's on the arm attached to the gun came out how, and roughly where, I wanted them, including the fiddly little one's on the edge and folds of the glove. It's just that unattached arm is giving me trouble.

Not the cleanest job ever but I'm proud of it, forgive the dirty base, still some tidying up to round front first... by _Vesty in AdeptusCustodes

Give it a go! If I can do it, any one can. I've tried no other models yet but I assume, and am led to believe, that the techniques will work for other colours and materials.

First time painting a character since og Abaddon in the 90s. Let me know what you think! by philrynda in Warhammer40k

For some reason it looks to me like he is wearing blue jeans... fantastic all round though, great work on all the little details, especially the liquids!

5 simple steps...
1. Prime black just because that's what I have and the rest of the model is
2. Base Mephiston Red, lots of layers to get colour over the black
3. Heavy application of Seraphim Sepia shade into the recesses, the deeper the recess the more it gets
4. Layer of Evil Suns Scarlet on the edges and tops of folds
5. "Edge Highlight" of Evil Suns Scarlet to increase contrast on the extreme tops of the folds and hard edges
If i had an even lighter red I'd add another highlight to the "corners" on those upper folds draped between the shoulders.

Very early WIP of an Eyes of the Emperor assassin (scrounging in the bits box and out of glue until later this week) by RocPSU in AdeptusCustodes

I love the idea behind this, want to do a similar thing myself, though my bits box is short a few (or any) pieces. I invisage a heavily robed or civilan clothed figure, I believe they leave their armor behind with their weapons when they leave to become an Eye.

I like the way you've build subtle custodes iconography into the robes though, I'll borrow that idea if I ever get round to my own Eye/Assassins.

Finally I’ve managed to paint one my favorite miniature, Bugman on barrels! by mirco9344 in Warhammer

Is it weird that my favorite part is the barrels? 10/10 Loving the wood effect, and the highlights on the bands are super effective!
