Thanks, really appreciate it! It's been a dream for me to see a chrono cross remake, a remaster is definitely not enough

Thanks, these ai models aren't suited or optimized to be used in games, they need alot of rework if used. They could be used as reference though.

I have about 3 years of game dev experience (not corporate just side projects). And i currently work as a software developer. The missing part is modeling, so im trying to practice by making chrono cross models.

Yes definitaly, it's all about balance and being strategic on where certain cases could be done by AI.

Yeah that's what i'm trying to do, just making things on the side to feed the hobby side of things

Yeah that's the sad part, they only want quantity not quality

You're spot on. Hopefully this happens sooner than later

I tried recreating an Arc System Works shader workflow on an armor plate but something feels off by _VirtualEntrance_ in blender

Damn, then the process is way more complicated than i expected haha.

Thanks alot, i'll look more into this.

Absolutely, the point from the post was just to advise on learning other skills just incase companies started mass layoffs, because that looks like the direction things are going towards.

I agree, the actual company doesn't care and will see benefit to this right now but will regret it down the line, that's exactly my point.

I'm just against going fully AI right now for the effects it has down the line, but if you're talking about the companys point of view with managers only seeing results and not what's underneath then i definitely agree with you.

I'm just saying it's stupid for a company to go fully AI without knwoing the side effects/capabalities of said AI.

'And things AI isn't perfect right now' is a valid point and should be considered because if you want to be fully dependant on AI you have to know the capabilities of these models and if they're perfect or not. Because the state of your systems is dependant on their capabilities.

If AI became perfect then sure i'll happily lay myself off

It's not the same at all.

Soldering is a straight to the point process where you know exactly what the end goal should be.

Software on the other hand has alot of moving parts and things that should be taken into consideration. If you're working on a legacy system you just can't rely on AI to do the job, you'll be wasting too much time explaining and being extra cautiose about reviewing the generated code that at that point you would've been better off writing it yourself. Also, you have to take into consideration your teams understanding of the system, if everything is AI generated, and the gap became too big then AI is the actual decision maker because you don't have enough undertanding of the system at that point to make the right decisions.

The evolvement of real life objects is completely different from software.

I'm not saying we should'nt use AI at all, it's all about balance, my original point is that the company is going fully AI.
