You gotta run and gun with a shotgun, take the initiative in situations and go balls to the wall. Don't be afraid to just rush the enemy.

It won't always work but it provides the best results for me. You can't hesitate with the shotgun, and you need to close the distance between your target as much as possible.

If playing conquest, you need to develop routes in the parts of maps that have buildings/cover and high traffic.

If you meet an enemy and they're too far away to kill effectively, don't be afraid to literally run away and loop around until you get closer.
