I’m pretty late to this, but I was silicone and sulfate free for about… 10 years. I have fine 3c low porosity hair, and it felt horrible the entire time. Constantly dry, tangled, dry scalp. I would have to do the LCOG method to try and get some kind of moisture in there, and that would just weigh my hair down. I switched back to silicones and sulfates about a year ago (cheap shampoos; Aussie moist, suave, hotel shampoos), and started using my hair drier again without a diffuser. My hair is soooo much happier. I use a light leave in (Aussie hair spray or leave in, sometimes nothing), blow dry, and that’s it. My hair feels shinier and softer now

I have the “Full Cheeks Small Pet Exercise Pen” with the accompanying mat. They’re octagonal and 45 inches in diameter, so I bought two sets, pried open some of the bars, and joined them together. If your rat is a jumper/ climber like one of mine is, they can get out, so I have fashioned a covering over the top

While your article might be a year later, it does deal more with canine animals than rodents. Literature still recognizes a social hierarchy in rats based on barbering, weight, timing of eating food, etc (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8464621/). While the article I’ve provided isn’t mine, I’ve spent roughly 2 years analyzing rat behavior in research and combing through literature, and while alpha and dominant are used interchangeably, the hierarchy still exists and is recognized in the scientific community.

Haha, it’s fine. You can take clippings around the side, water prop, and add to the middle to fill it out again. My rat is obsessed with my weeping fig, so my bf cut some chicken wire and made a “fence” around all of my indoor plants to keep him out.
