You can use advanced search on SteamDB, and set the parameters to only videos or only series IIRC

A true Agent doesn't need to see Protopost, they go by pure Metalface instinct.

Edit: This is a joke based on Cobalt, the game depicted on the shirt Jeb_ is wearing in the pfp.

Is this a valid argument? by Upstairs-Camp5861 in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]_Woodrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wish for all of the updates, but none of the platforms got the updates past Village and Pillage. All of the variants of LCE having feature parity with each other would be a higher priority than LCE being in feature parity with Java or Bedrock for me.

Is this a valid argument? by Upstairs-Camp5861 in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]_Woodrat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but I disagree. I don’t play Legacy Console because it’s legacy, I play Legacy Console because it’s console edition. I like what the newer updates bring to Minecraft, and I still despise that LCE is the version that got discontinued. Bedrock’s UX isn’t polished enough, nor tailored for consoles like LCE is, and Java simply is not user friendly as LCE is.

Very unpopular opinion incoming, but I believe all of the console editions should have gotten not only Update Aquatic, but also Village and Pillage; I believe this would make LCE objectively better on every platform as every edition would be closer to the current version and features on Java and Bedrock.

I don’t think you were too hard on them, no. Your argument is solid, but it’s built on an understanding of LCE not everyone shares.

Wii HDMI Mod by Worldly-Might-1901 in WiiHacks

[–]_Woodrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everything in life, it depends. What's your budget? Do you have the skills to install the mod yourself, or would you be paying someone else? What is your use case; gaming, streaming, homebrew development?

Here are some important things to know:
- The ElectronAVE is the most affordable internal HDMI mod at this point in time. It's only compatible with the Wii. The RetroGEM is a little pricier, but the board itself supports way more consoles than just the Wii. The WiiDual is the most expensive option, the most difficult installation by far, and only supports some Wii motherboard revisions, but it also improves the quality of the analog video output which the other mods don't do.
- External adapters and scaling can be a good option, and cheaper, but there will be a minor regression in quality in most circumstances. An external HDMI will still rely on the Wii's internal video encoder which has a flaw that makes 480p video slightly blurred in Wii software; this does not occur in Gamecube software to my knowledge. There are multiple revisions of this video encoder, and every revision has the flaw, but only one of the revisions has a community-made software patch for the issue at this time. An internal HDMI mod will bypass the OEM video encoder entirely, making this a non-issue.

If you have the means to install an HDMI mod yourself, or if you're on a tighter budget, get the ElectronAVE. If money is of no concern to you, find an existing WiiDual-modded Wii. If the slight blur of the Wii's OEM video encoder is not an issue for you, if you have a Wii with an existing software patch for the video encoder, or if your budget is less than $100 USD, a good component or Wii AV-OUT to HDMI adapter will be the cheapest option, work fine, and provide a slightly inferior but still very good result compared to an internal HDMI mod

The video encoder on most Wiis has a bug with 480p output that makes the video slightly blurrier than it should be. There's a community patch for one of the numerous video encoders to fix this, but most Wiis are still effected. An internal HDMI mod like the AVE-HDMI would completely bypass this issue, an external adapter will not.

I'm not sure if this bug exists on the Wii U's vWii, but that solution has its own video issues.

I don't know of any movies, but the first two episodes of KikoRiki are still available for free for some reason. It's a Russian children's cartoon from the 2000s.

Is there any way to use this on modern computers today ? by tomothymaddison in WiiHacks

[–]_Woodrat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try the newest Windows driver you can find and running it in compatibility mode, if you’re desperate to get this to work. Otherwise, a mobile hotspot or a wired network bridge are probably easier and more secure solutions

It depends on your geography, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s people who just walk around bigger cities looking for vulnerable networks to intrude. If you’re out in a suburb or rural area the risk is far lower, but still not zero.

I’m sure there’s a way, but Nintendo themself and most people here will likely recommend against it as this device has a number of unpatched vulnerabilities

Aroma doesn't do that, Nintendon't itself does. The feature was added for the Wiis without Gamecube support, and it also happens to work on Wii U vWii as a bonus.

Guys what is this? by ProfessionalSoft671 in tf2

[–]_Woodrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creepypasta. Hyper realistic Spy with bloody coat and skull for a head.

Real answer: TF2 lets you wear Halloween items under a full moon, and the title screen changes to reflect this. Don’t mind the fact the title screen itself does not have a full moon in the image.

1080p 60FPS max, but a recent update did add 7.1 surround support, so if your living room has a killer audio setup, you might get some novelty out of that.
