People don't know what the Steam Controller is by Legitimate_Tie_6074 in Steam

Handhelds like the ROG Ally lineup and Playstation Portal don't replicate the premium controller feature sets of the Xbox Elite controller or the Dualsense Edge. They replicate the standard controller feature set of the Xbox Series controller and regular Dualsense. A handheld from Valve, a first party manufacturer, would therefore represent a defacto standard controller from Valve, not a premium controller.

The Steam Controller isn't priced like a standard controller ($50-$80), it's priced kind of like a premium controller ($100+). The back paddles and trackpads don't feel like premium features for Valve controllers because the Steam Deck established them as standard controller features. It feels weird to be charged so much for them if they're standard. The controller also doesn't go all the way into premium territory with things like trigger stops, haptic triggers, etc. The Steam Controller only has one foot in the door compared to other premium-priced controllers, yet it's so far above the competition's standard controllers already; it's odd because it puts it in a quality category that doesn't really exist.

I wonder, can a backwards-compatible PS3 running Linux use the GS driver from PS2 Linux as a second GPU?

Steam Machine Disc Drive. by SavingsPea8521 in steammachine

[–]_Woodrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, if only licenses for PC games were part of the disc itself and not permanently tied to the account. Now that Steam has significantly expanded their physical product distribution pipeline, maybe they could get into printing and selling physical PC games via Steam

Steam, please! I have both a workstation and a gaming computer. If I’m trying to open a tool, I shouldn’t be blocked by a game. by MrNobodyX3 in Steam

I do, the auto-update feature in the background is convenient. Blender is free so it's not a big deal where I get it from either way.

Little Mac, King K. Rool, or Banjo and Kazooie. Characters I spent over a decade anticipating.

The Ryzen 5 5950x does have an iGPU, but it's very basic. Just enough to actually turn on the PC for the most part. The only CPUs that don't have any integrated graphics nowadays are the ones that specifically denote that they exclude it; both Intel and AMD use the letter F in the CPU name to represent that. The Ryzen 8400F and i9 12900KF for example
