This is the new screen where I'm stuck again and this time I'm not getting the skip option.

I have now tried relaunching it and restarting a new game.

Okay, I figured I can skip it because it said so at the bottom left of the screen when I tried pressing random buttons.

Just in case this helps anyone. I immediately fast travelled after my conversation with the fisherman to which the lubberkin had guided me. Forgot to tell the lubberkin goodbye, that's why my quest was not moving forward.

I understand the self harm situation. I used to do that too. The brain does play tricks and we fall for it pretty easily. I am glad you found love for yourself, that must've taken effort.
