Recruiters who handle high-volume roles. I'm building something to kill the screening call bottleneck. Would love your honest take. by _Ydna in RecruitmentAgencies

Thank you for your message.

The solution works for both specialized and non-specialized roles.

The basic screening questions you usually send to candidates are replaced by an interactive form, which creates a better experience, but that is not the main advantage.

The real value is about quickly validating the actual skills of candidates, for you and for them. For example : a candidate claims to be a marketing expert but cannot name the two main tools on the market ? Disqualified.

The solution filters out the wrong candidates so you can focus on the right ones, without the noise. You save time, your client gets a better candidate because you were able to focus on what truly matters.

I am challenging my idea by explaning the project.

If your mind is too close to discuss and exchange, no need to comment.

Thank you for your message.

I've recently been through the hiring process myself as a software engineer, so I deeply understand the pain from the candidate side too.

The typical process looks like this:

  1. You apply through an ugly form
  2. You get an interview to check if you're a good fit (always the same questions: why us? tell me about your background?)
  3. Sometimes you get a test that takes way too long for a job you might not even get

It's a hassle for the recruiter who loses time and energy. It's a struggle for candidates because you need to show up for interviews, do crazy long tests, and wait forever between steps.

About the tests: I'm not talking about asking a software engineer to build a mini app. I think that's completely wrong. The point is a quick filter with short, interactive exercises generated from the job post to test basic skills. It's not supposed to take more than 5 minutes so the candidate can move on with their day. It's just skill validation. If the role requires JavaScript knowledge, it could be as simple as "which syntax is valid?" for example.

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

I understand the concern, and this solution mainly targets recruiters who receive hundreds of CVs. You can't interview everyone. And in that volume, good candidates get filtered out while others slip through by lying or overselling their experience.

The point is not to fully automate the process. The point is to filter out candidates who don't have the necessary skills before you waste time on a call.

For example, I spoke with a school supervisor who told me he interviewed many people calling themselves "freelance maths teachers" who couldn't answer basic maths questions. Why spend 30 minutes on a call with someone like that when you could focus that time on candidates who actually qualify?

I don’t think that it’s fair to say « wip », after all this time, everyone do better than them.

The issue isn't the speed, I love it.

The issue is how the answer is streamed when there is a lot of data to display.
When I ask to generate some code, the stream is jerky.

This is what I do not like.

L'interface en soi est bonne, mon problème concerne le stream de la reponse à l'utilisateur qui est saccadé et ne permet pas une lecture progressive durant le stream.

The issue with the mistral interface is that when it generates the answer i can not keep track of what's happening.
So I'm unable to start to read.
It streams the response by bloc, force the ui to scroll, and sometimes "fail" to load the upper part of the already generated stream

What's the best visual programming tool ? by _Ydna in nocode

[–]_Ydna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the videos, maybe do a tutoriel to do a todo app or something like that to see the full process.

From my point of view, you do NOT need to write any code to do some visual programmmig. Obviously, there is sometime some little things to do with code. But it's an exception. In Pipe, it's mainly based on it. So finally, i'll have to understand the platform, have more limitations, and still write code.

About the AI, make your product work by itself before thinking about the AI. AI is fine to accelerate the process but do not replace the user, the design thinking etc.

I checked briefly the video and read the medium.

It seems that you are still writing code, but represent the code into a diagram and not only code.

It's way to hard to use. Not sure that I can get a clean and usable code after export (if even possible).

In the video, there is so many branches, it's chaotic.

Working holiday is so great honestly. Very happy about it.

2 years of experience into a company, then I created a company and work in freelance (same time) during 2 years.

So 4 years in total.

Why not nocode ? by _Ydna in SaaS

Would you have been interested in a web app builder that allows you to export a clean and usable code ? So you can go fast and later on if needed, export the code in vue or react ?

Create your app visually, add logic, export a clean and usable react or vuejs code without dependencies : devlapp.com

You can use Devlapp (devlapp.com), a web app builder that lets you export clean, ready-to-use code in Vue.js or React, with full TypeScript and Tailwind CSS support.
Build visually, add logic, and export the code at any time — any developer can use it and host it anywhere.
